Rolf mentions that the tunnels look like a bomb hit them. Kristen says one did. Why is Rolf here? He's a fugitive and could get caught. Rolf has news he can only share in person.
Rolf says Kristen had hired him to find a new scientific breakthrough that would make Dimera Enterprises a lot of money. He's found one.
Kristen doesn't care. All she cares about is getting Brady out of jail.
Rolf says that Stefano was obsessed with Marlena too but knew when to set that aside for the good of the company. Kristen looks at the portrait and reluctantly agrees to listen to Rolf's proposal.
After half a dozen false starts, Rolf finally gets to the point. He's created a formula that can heal failing organs and other internal issues. Kristen asks him if he thinks it will work on spinal cord injuries. Rolf doesn't know, but it's possible. He'd like to try and see what happens.

Utterly stupid. I thought when they were making fun of themselves when Alex brought in a magical flower, they had rid themselves of this nonsense. Guess again.
I don't want Sarah in a wheelchair, but this "cure" is too much. And besides I figure something will go horribly wrong like some side effect that turns Sarah into some maniac or something.
Rolf to the rescue. On planet Mars.

These scenes felt really forced.

Yeah... but if it gets Sarah out of the wheelchair, I am okay with it wrapping up quickly. True to form, Kristen will come to Brady's rescue.

***passing out bags for everyone***
Yeah, her obsession and their dead love is so overplayed. He's not that great of a guy and she's wasting good years pining for him. Bring back Alex

Traditionally in movies when "mad scientists" start using "promising" but experimental and unproven medical methods things go awry.
I guess "Frankenstein" is the touchstone with this type of thing.
To name a few more there is the grotesque "The Fly" and all of its countless imitations. And also, the sardonically darkly funny "The Invisible Man."
Then there is the straight-out screwball comedy "Monkey Business" starring Cary Grant and Ginger Rogers. Plus Marilyn Monroe.
My point. Perhaps Days should explore that last mention. Sarah gets healed but starts acting like a rambunctious rebellious 14-year-old schoolgirl. Ha.
