This is so sad, especially knowing the last time we saw him on-screen was the last.

He started on Days in 1986, shortly before I began watching. I've been in shock all weekend over this.

We have been watching around the same time then heroicmuse I came in late summer of 1986, Marlena was already pretty much comatose or fake dead by then, so I never had the attachment to her character. I liked him with Diana and loved him with Isabella. I always thought he was settling for old cold fish Doc because his true love died so young. I do respect the longevity of Jarlena though, and my heart goes out to the very intense fan base who are hurting.

I just wish they would stop acting like Dee is his widow in their posts. Drake has an actual widow, his wife of almost 40 years, who has loved him since she was 12 and he was 15! Thank goodness they had such an early start, since his life was cruelly short.

John's funeral will definitely be emotional if and when it does happen

If I had to guess, I'd say she's likely devastated. It may take her longer to come up with the words.

But, hopefully, we'll hear from Deidre at some point in the near future.

Kpatch I'm pretty sure she's devastated and heartbroken by his death and is still trying to process the news privately. She may release some kind of statement whenever she wants to in her own time.

And yeah those tributes have me feeling some kind of way. I almost broke down a couple of times while reading them on Twitter. This whole situation has me feeling so bummed.

I know this is a weird time to mention this, but my name is Deirdre. I can imagine some of Drake's co-stars are still in shock. Probably most viewers knew something was up but didn't know what. Most of the older castmates are probably closer than family, it must be extra hard for them.

I heard the news and was also saddened. I've also watched DOOL forever, and remember the Pawn story very well, including when they unmasked him very dramatically.

My prayers for the family and his friends during this difficult time.
