Brady runs into Eric who boasts about his lame photo shoot. Brady was checking on Ava. He updates Eric on how she almost got her throat slit. Eric didn’t realize Ava and Brady were friends. Brady says they got close the night he fell off the wagon. Eric is silently judging. Brady says he knows Eric is wondering why Ava would drink with him when she knows he is in recovery, and she tried to talk him down, but nothing was going to stop him that night. Eric knows that feeling. If Brady had listened to Ava maybe Sarah wouldn’t be in a wheelchair.
Eric says Brady can’t punish himself forever over what happened with Sarah. Brady reminds him that he crippled her, that Victoria will be walking soon and Sarah won’t be able to get out of her chair and hold her. Eric tells him he made a mistake but Sarah will find a way to have a good life and he should do the same. Brady says gee why didn’t I think of that, why should I waste another minute feeling guilty that I ran over an innocent woman and paralyzed her? Eric tells him to stop with the sarcasm. Brady asks how he is supposed to have a good life when he ruined someone else’s? He may not have to pay for this in court, but Xander won’t let go of this. Eric asks if Xander threatened him. Brady tells Eric about Xander, the bat and his threat to cripple him. Eric wants to know what happened. Brady tells him that Xander’s mom happened and stopped him.
Eric gets Xander being angry but he can’t take the law into his own hands. Did Brady report this to the police. He did not. He figured he had it coming. Whatever pain Xander wanted to inflict, he thought he deserved it. Eric tells him he is a good man who is battling a disease. Brady says that is no excuse. Eric says he made a mistake but that doesn’t give the ‘son of a b’ (sorry Fiona) the right to do what he did. Brady says well Xander thought it did. Eric gets back to the narrative; so what happened with Xander’s mom? She stopped him to keep Xander out of prison. Brady also said Fiona wanted to protect him too. Eric asks why since Fiona doesn’t know him. Brady says in the profound sense, she does not, but in the biblical sense, she does. Eric has shocked pikachu face. Brady: Xander’s mom and I. We slept together.
Eric tries not to judge (haha) but what was Brady thinking. Brady lies that he did not know Fiona was Xander’s mom when they hooked up. When he found out did they end things wonders Eric? Brady, uh no. Eric: Seriously? Brady tells him nothing kills romance like paralyzing your new lover’s daughter in law. He’d like to change the subject. How did things go with Holly? Eric didn’t have to tell her about Daniel, cause somebody else got to her first. Brady’s son in fact.
This is news to Brady. Tate thought Holly already knew. Eric tells him that Holly is furious at him and Nicole. Looking back, Eric says their reasons for not telling her were not good enough. Brady says to give Holly time to process, she will come around and remember how Eric has loved her for her entire life. Brady is off to an AA meeting. Eric looks mopey.
EJ comes in and mocks Eric as the world famous photographer. Is he bumming off Daddy’s free wifi (Lol!)? Eric asks what he wants. EJ asks if that is how he greets customers? Eric asks if he is there to eat. EJ is not. He will never understand how people can eat things that come with little packets of tartar sauce. He takes a seat and asks Eric why he is so glum (that’s his normal face EJ). Oh he knows, Brady has crippled Sarah and now Eric has to relive the misery of his own crime, which was way worse because he actually killed somebody, and Holly now despises him.
Eric says Holly doesn’t despise him. He knows she will come around. EJ admires his misplaced optimism. He is certain that now Holly knows what a chronic liar her mother is, and that Eric is the drunk that killed her father, that she won’t trust either of them ever again. Good thing she has EJ to lean on though, isn’t it? I don't think this thought cheers up Grumpy Eric much.

For the most part Eric and Brady has a fairly interesting conversation. One complaint. Eric asking why Fiona interrupted Xander in bashing in Brady's skull saying she didn't know him. Uh genius, most people don't want to see that and least of all watching her son batter a man.
EJ plastered Eric like a dentist drill.

I love EJ vs Eric. I love Xander vs Eric. I just hate Eric and anytime one of them needles him it gives me joy.
I noticed Brady lied about not knowing who Fiona was when they hooked up. He totally did.

EJ and Eric were far more interesting than Eric and Brady who were just making excuses for each other for driving drunk and harming people.

Downplaying what Brady 'did' and saying Sarah would find a way to have a decent life Regardless of what we know, Brady blew off work, got drunk, and so drunk that he can't remember that night. That is irresponsible and reckless. |
