Leo is working on the latest round of re-writes when Hattie comes to his door. She has a whole stack of scripts but tells Leo he needs to re-write them. SHE is the star, but Bonnie’s character has way more lines. Leo says all the re-writes must be approved so Hattie tells him that Bonnie has been re-writing her own lines. They both want the show to be a hit, so he needs to make the changes she wants so it will bel. He will see what he can do but doesn’t make any promises.
Johnny comes to complain about the love scene being so soon but Leo refuses. Johnny leaves and Leo is lounging around when Bonnie shows up wearing the same dress from the photo shoot. She says if he doesn’t rescind the script, she will quit the show.

While I generally like Hattie's goofiness today things fell a bit flat. And a total rewrite just seemed too impossible to achieve.
Leo appears to work harder than anyone else in this town.

I felt like this was a dig at the audience who is always blaming the writers for bad storylines and episodes.

That's because it is. I have a feeling that, unfortunately, the majority of this Body & Soul storyline is a dig at the audience. From what I've heard from people who've watched other soaps he's written for, Ron can be incredibly petty, so I wouldn't at all be surprised if he got mad that the fans liked some of the stuff that happened during the strike and wrote this as a form of payback.
