Days has almost always had a villain, like Orpheus and Stefano. More recently there was Konstantin. And now they’ve turned Clyde into an omnipotent villain

It depends. Clyde is good in well selected doses. I've come around to his southern drawl and sly wit.
And Connie, as annoying as she was, got the show's pulse moving. I thought the show was dragging for several days until the last three days when Connie started creating widespread mayhem. But someone like her has to disappear at some point. It was TIME for her to go but I have a feeling Days will put her in their back pocket and spring her into action at a later date. Personally, I would prefer for someone to blow her head off.
Konstantin overstayed his welcome and wasn't a particularly beguiling "bad guy."
Orpheus displayed a stinging wit but seemed more like a history professor than a hard-bitten criminal.
Jan Spears at times was entertaining but she is a full-blown looney and is only good in brief stretches.
In total having a good villain storyline if done right with the right people gives the show a much-needed jolt. After a while having people stand around and talking all day can get a little old.
However, I just wish the Salem PD would do more Columbo style detective work. They seem like such dunces in comparison.

Depends who Clyde sucks and is very forced I just don’t buy it Deimos had potential but bad writing ruined him I mean Kristin is still a wildcard and I think she’s kind of grand at that aspect Ej is the right successor for Stefano I think xander is the perfect successor for Victor as he has the different layers of ruthless and compassion I prefer to see them in the same families and just scrap poplar bluff altogether

I can do without villains altogether. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I'd rather see family interactions, friends, romances. In the old days, there was always a villain or two but they weren't supernatural villains. They were people like Erica Kane and Sami Brady and Lawrence Alamain who created problems for others through scheming and lying. I much prefer that to villains who simulate people's death, turn them into the devil or bring them back from the dead.

Orpheus and Deimos are my favorite villains I think. Imo villains are necessary once in awhile to keep things riveting.

I don't need a villain, at least not often. I prefer stories with characters like EJ and Ava who have a fuzzy moral compass, or storylines where good people have to deal with difficult situations.
I really don't care at all about Clyde or whatever story he's involved in. Although I don't love Fiona, I find her trying to cover her tracks more interesting.

I like a compelling villain and not an easy villain. If that makes sense. Give me real layers and not generic "you killed my XXX so I will hunt you down 20 years later".
Clyde, Orpheus, etc. are overdone.
I prefer a villain who is good who crosses a moral line or does something wrong for the right reason.
