Holly offers to help put Brady in jail. EJ regrets that he has no solid evidence since Kristen destroyed the car. She tells EJ that she knows Eric was the drunk driver that killed her father. Holly trusted her mother and Eric. EJ wanted Nicole to tell Holly the truth. Holly is sure her mother was protecting Eric. Holly tells EJ that he was more of a father figure to her than was Eric. EJ was the one who sent her to Italy for treatment. EJ promises to do his best to put Brady away for his crime. They hug.

Holly is not wrong. Nicole will always put Eric before anyone else in her life.

I guess in a twisted way, it's nice to see EJ and Holly bond.
And yes, Nicole will always put Eric first.
I'm glad Holly knows, and do hope that EJ and Holly continue to bond (with safe healthy boundaries). Holly needs some guidance and I don't think EJ would abuse his authority to get back at Nicole.

Sad part is that Eric never puts Nicole first and always makes her feel less She disregarded her own daughter and hollys late fathers memory all for a man who puts her last Zero sympathy for this woman 🤦♀️

I have mixed feelings about this. Yes, it's great to see Holly acknowledge all that EJ has done for her and for a minute, it seemed like EJ was really trying to semi-defend Nicole on her decision.
yes, Holly is right that Eric will always come first to Nicole and EJ rightly agreed, but he didn't have to say "For the record I wanted to tell you all along". He was threatening Nicole and Eric with that info. Not urging Nicole to tell Holly.
I agree that Holly needs someone to turn to, but I'm not sure that EJ is it. And I'm really not happy that she's created her own vendetta against Brady because of Eric. I'm glad that EJ wouldn't enlist her help but agreed to review it should she find anything. Although we all know that Holly will now go on a mission to find the proof and drive a further wedge between her and Tate and others in Salem.

I’m feeling a daddy issues vibe When ej didn’t want her seeing Tate she used to cry that Eric was more the father figure in her life It’s a bit flip floppy to me It was mentioned before by a member that her conversations with Maggie were forgotten and I think Maggie would have been a better person to talk to Help her put it into perspective as Daniel is her son and Sarah is her daughter and yet she’s been forgiving of it all I can’t shake the feeling something icky will happen once Holly turns 18

Icky is being kind. No way in hell should Days broach that idea. Too unseemly and stomach curling even for a SOAP.

Was EJ manipulating her? I know he's not totally heartless, but I was surprised that he didn't really talk badly about Nicole there, too.

I don't think EJ was lying when he said he wanted Nicole to tell Holly the truth all along. The audience isn't privy to every conversation and the former writers couldn't be bothered with character history.
I believe EJ did encourage Nicole to tell Holly the truth. He only threatened Eric with it at the end when Eric made an enemy of EJ. I don't think EJ would have gone through with it. He would not want to hurt Holly.

horizon that’s exactly what I’m worried about I don’t think the writers would have an issue with it at all They’ve done far worse and ick factor stories

I think Holly is firmly daughter zoned for EJ, I wouldn't worry. This isn't the era of Kristen going after John's sons/stepsons.

Hope you're right.
It would be good if Holly had a "father" in town.
Why, though, would EJ automatically tell Holly "I'm sorry" when she said I heard you're not pressing charges against Brady? She may have thought that was a good thing and been happy for Tate and his father.

Because Sarah is her aunt @kpatch Nothing to do with Tate

I know that, but she's much closer with Tate than Sarah. She and Sarah never shared a scene except for when Holly OD'd and then not again until Sarah was in the hospital. So I don't buy the close relationship between them.
