Xander drops by to see Victoria. He won’t rest until the person who mowed down Sarah is caught. Fiona wonders if Xander will feel the same about Sarah now that she’s paralyzed. He tells her he loves Sarah more than he ever thought possible. He tells his mum he’s worried he won’t be what Sarah needs as she recuperates. Fiona reassures him and reminds him she’s there to help. She owes him that much after all. All those years, not being there for him. She thinks that’s the reason Xander thinks he’s not good enough to help Sarah. Fiona promises to make it up to him and they hug.
He needs to get back to the hospital. He thanks her for helping. She thanks him for welcoming her back into his life. As soon as Xander leaves, she takes out a big bottle of vodka. She stares at it and decides she done with it now. She tosses the bottle in the waste basket and vows to be the mother Xander needs her to be.

Really good conversation. I like it spelled out that Sarah's paralysis in no way changes Xander's feelings for her or his commitment to them as a couple. And today I felt an urgency to Fiona, that she needs to make up for lost time and there is a timeline on it. There are rumours she is ill, and this was the first hint I felt that this might be true.
I also applaud her tossing the vodka. Too late for Sarah, but at least she made that choice today.

Fiona is still lying through her teeth. She is a terrible person. She can say anything but it's her behavior that speaks volumes. And she can easily take the bottle out of the waste basket. It takes much more than this to believe she wants to "change."

Sorry. I still love her. I think she is such an interesting character who has a lot of layers. I know you don't care for the actress but I think she is wonderful. Her face is very expressive and I get that she is in a miserable situation of her own making.

Fiona has no redeeming qualities.
She abandoned her son. She drove drunk and ran down her daughterinlaw. She fled from the scene, leaving the accident victim to possibly die. She made someone else think he was responsible for the accident. She is drunk while she watches her baby granddaughter. And she has stringy hair that doesn't suit her face.

She is a hot mess, but Xander is a screw up too. Apple doesn't fall far from that tree

The show transitioned well today. Right after Kristen insinuated Abby was a possible fraud they glided into the next scene with Fiona. Ha.
She should come clean but I can understand her dilemma but only to a degree. She has finally reached a nice zone with her son and telling him the ugly truth will surely blow it sky high.
Seems to have some guilt but not enough. A normal person would be eaten away with the guilt especially since Sarah's prognosis is rather grim at the moment.

I think as she sobers up the guilt will grow.
On a side note I loved that Xander kept twisting his wedding ring throughout the scene, a great acting choice showing his connection to Sarah

Fiona has proven herself to be a lightweight. In many ways she reminds me of Theresa. Looking after herself first and foremost just letting her terrible misdeeds fester under false circumstances.
Which is precisely what Theresa pulled.
