Repeat of Melinda firing Connie. Melinda insists Connie let her in to collect her laptop and badge. Connie says she can’t come in right now. Melinda wonders if Connie has company. Melinda threatens to call the authorities so Connie asks for a minute to straighten up. She shuts the door and turns to Cardboard Li for advice. How can she execute her plan against Gabi if she’s fired. Melinda pounds on the door. She hasn’t got all day. Connie lets her in. Connie apologizes. She was desperate to get the job and she regrets it. She asks Melinda for some understanding. Connie goes to make some tea first.
So over a cup of tea, Connie tries to explain why she did what she did. She claims she had to work for Gabi. She hates Gabi’s guts. Melinda wonders why. Connie explains it’s because of what they did to Li, stole his Dimera shares, shattered his heart. That dear sweet prince of a man. They are the reason she and Li could never be together. She and Li were meant for each other. Melinda reminds her they only had one date. Connie reasons that’s because Melinda came along. It’s why Connie moved into this place, to be close to him. This is a great base of operations for getting revenge. It was Gabi’s fault Li was killed and hers too. She tells Melinda Gil didn’t stab Li, silly.
Before Connie can finish her story, Melinda starts feeling sick. Connie says it must be the fast-acting Digoxin. Worked perfectly last time. Melinda desperately fishes her phone out of her purse so she can call Ava.
Later, she tells Cardboard Li she wasn’t planning on poisoning Melinda but she couldn’t risk being exposed. Cut to Melinda out cold on the sofa.

Why would Melinda, a high-powered lawyer and former district attorney, try to call Ava instead of 911??? Dumb.

When "Psycho" hit the screens people were SHOCKED that cool composed PI Martin Balsam (a terrific actor by the way) was killed off. Back then it was unusual to see such a character die off and so early in the movie no less.
Since then, we have seen countless unsuspecting smarty pants types meet their cruel fate when they underestimate who they are dealing with.
Terrible mistake by Trask and I wonder if she will die too. Who knows with this show as people have been dropping like flies of late.
Never should have gone inside this demon's lair.

I don't want to give anything away but as a Columbo aficionado, in "Rest in Peace, Mrs. Columbo" one of his best ever, you will witness a moment where Columbo ends up solo with a female demon ready to destroy.
I won't give anything away, but that episode is something to behold.

I am so sick of this idiot Connie getting the upper hand on intelligent characters. Enough already

Connie's acting is horrible. Is she related to someone on the set or at the studio? LOL
That said: I thought Melinda was smarter than that. Is she dead, or just sedated?

To my understanding, Trey, no. She was, apparently, a fan of the show who's previously had some bit parts in a couple shows (Days being her first major acting role), and Ron found her and thought she was hilarious, so he gave her a major role. We can add her to the list of annoying characters who get FAR too much screen time and should have been no more than bit parts, but that Ron, in his infinite "wisdom" decided to make a mainstay of the show.

That is correct. She won a walk on part and it was cut so Ron gave her the date with Li last year, then when he returned decided to have her take over half the show.
When Ron was fired only three actors thanked him for how he wrote for them: GR (Leo), JD (Connie) and RSW (BenAlex). Says volumes.
