I was not a fan of Tamara as Ava. Why do I want to call her Ava Braun? Anyway, I couldn't stand the character, so for me, it's a be careful what you wish for kind of thing. Once Tamara starts playing Taylor, I may wish Natalia was back. I think Tamara was an odd choice for the role, but nobody asked my opinion before they hired her.

They didn't contact you kpatch?? That doesn't seem right. Somebody should check on that.
I'm kind of getting used to Natalia and, minus the constipated look, she seems to be settling into the role a bit more. I'm NOT a fan of hers, but I can't really have any positive feelings about her knowing that she's leaving.

I like Tamara Braun as an actress (though I've started to type Ava Braun a few times myself) and liked her as Ava. I don't like Natalia Livingston as an actress and haven't liked her in any role yet. I think Tamara's definitely an improvement over Natalia, but I think it's kind of crazy that they picked her to play little milk toast Taylor Walker. Even if they decide to "spice up" the character, it still doesn't make sense to me. Tamara is not going to look like Nicole's younger sister and if they want yet another "bad girl" character why bring Taylor back at all. Tamara could have returned as Ava instead (send Taylor back to where she came from when Natalia leaves). She and Nicole were buds so if they want to give Nicole a rival she is close to, Ava would have served that purpose as well or better than the little sister Nicole hasn't seen in years. Ava is already bad and if they must keep Elvis (and they really shouldn't IMO) and must pair him with someone, Ava Vitali makes for the best option. They didn't contact you kpatch?? Alas, I think this explains a lot of the dubious decisions at Days. So sad.  |

The biggest problem I have with the recast is the fact that Tamara is obviously so much older than Natalia and she's supposed to be the younger sister. I know I'm going to have a huge problem with that part. Since I missed her as Ava, I doubt that connection with bother me. But it will be interesting to see if they mention anything about it on Tamara's first day.
NICOLE: Gee, Taylor. I never really noticed how much you look like an old friend of mine. And suddenly I realize how grown up you are. Huh!

Days used to at least poke fun at its own absurdity from time to time. I remember when Wayne Northrup returned to play Dr. Alex North (that was his name right?) and Marlena's first words on meeting him was "I know you".... made even funnier by the fact that Roman (as played by Josh Taylor) and John (the former faux Roman) were standing right there too and that Marlena was supposed to have amnesia at the time and didn't know anyone.... I remember someone captioning it as 3 Romans and a Marlena.
I don't think they will do anything like that with this though... unless Ari or Tamara take it upon themselves to ad lib something about it.

^^^That's hilarious!!! I wonder if that "I know you..." line was ad libbed or if it was actually written that way. Surely all 4 of those actors HAD to recognize the absurdity of the moment.

The actors were pretty funny in it - it could just be my imagination but I thought they looked like they were having to keep from laughing. I think it was probably written in on purpose though. That was back when James E. Reilly was writing and that's the kind of thing he would have done. I think she ended up saying she recognized his name from an article she was just reading or something lame like that as what she meant by "knowing him".

I, like DD, didn't see Tamara as Ava so I shouldn't have any trouble getting into her as Taylor. I really hope they spice her up a bit. I still want her to be the genuine good girl though because that has always been Taylor's character. Even the first go round. But Natalia is a bit too sweet HOWEVER, I do love her backbone towards EJ!

Maybe their idea of taking Taylor into a different direction means suddenly Taylor is the older sister...Hey they changed the time Nicole miscarried, so why not?
