I don't see how the writers think that getting rid of charatcers that people like and watch and bringing in new characters will help the ratings and keep fans tuned in.

That's true. I think they need to have an even number of people that are of all age groups and quit adding characters that are high school. Maybe this new guy will work out!!

I think the problem is that there are characters in all age ranges that could be brought back that are fan favorites that most people would rather see versus a new character who has no background. I would rather see Philip/Chloe/Belle/Shawn/Chelsea/Max/Stephanie/Mimi/Rex/Eric than someone brand new.

There were some rumors awhile back during the reset on one of the other soap sites that said that Eric Brady was being casted so there is a real good possibility that this could turn out to be a recasted Eric Brady since Jensen Ackles is not available to reclaim the role since he is on Supernatural. I could definitely see Eric coming back to town to reconnect with Nicole and to give Sami another sibling in town now that Carrie will be gone soon. There was also some talks right after Kyle Lowder was let go from Bold and Beautiful about having him take over the Eric role since Brady was already being played by Eric Marstolf. Ari Zucker even mentioned in one of her interviews right after the reset that she would love to work with her husband again on Days and could see him playing Eric. If the show was to bring back Eric unfortunately since it looks like Brady and Madison are going to end up being married I could see the new writers getting rid of Brady along with Madison and replace him in the 30's age group with Eric especially since the writers seem to have absolutely no idea what to do with Brady's character other than have him have sex all the time with whichever female he is paired with at the time.

I'd love for Kyle to come back to play Eric. That would be hilarious.

I don't mind new faces as long as they are old characters. Introducing new characters is NOT their strong suit, so they should stay as far away from that as possible. But bring back old names with new faces is fine with me. As long as those faces come attached to VERY pretty chests - I'm talking about the men, of course.

I would love to see alot of these charatcers return and I think alot of people would start to really tune in if they brought back characters that are fan favorites to begin with.

I think that this could possibly be Eric Brady, Alexander Kiriakis, or Andrew Donovan. I would absolutely love it if the Donovan kids took center stage: Eve, Andrew and Jeannie.
