Sonny arrives at Alex's and finds him passed out on his sofa.
Sonny tells him he can't think like that. Alex says, why not? It explains a lot. Justin is well-respected and dignified, and he's not. And Sonny is loved by one and all, and Alex is not.
Sonny tells him none of that is true. Nothing has changed. He's still his brother. Dad is still their Dad. Their relationship and their love for each other doesn't have to change.
Alex says things have to change because they aren't brothers, and Justin isn't his Dad.
Sonny accuses Alex of wallowing in self-pity when he should be counting his blessings.
Alex wants Sonny to leave. Sonny has to catch a plane in an hour. He wishes he didn't have to leave his Dad and Alex right now. He knows Alex is venting to him because he can. When Alex says he's had enough of the psychobabble, Sonny accuses him of wallowing again, pointing out that he's self-isolating and drinking himself into a stupor. Alex says he just needs some time to think and be alone because everything he thought about himself up until this point has been a lie. He didn't know who his father was. He thought he had brothers.
Sonny asks if Alex has talked to their Dad. Alex quips, you mean my cousin, Justin? Sonny blows up at him. He thought he was getting through to him. Alex has been drinking since Justin told him about the letter.
Sonny calls Alex self-absorbed because he can't see how this is affecting everyone else. He reminds Alex that their Dad is hurting, too. He tells Alex to get cleaned up and go talk to him.
Alex says there's no point. Nothing makes sense because Victor knew he was his father, and he never said a word. Sonny admits it was messed up. There must have been a reason, and he's sure Victor struggled like hell with it. Maybe he thought Justin would be a better father than he ever could be.
Alex wants to know why he had to find out about this after Victor was dead. Did Victor leave half of his fortune for lying to him his whole life? He doesn't even know if he wants the damn inheritance.
Sonny says the money isn't the most important thing. Alex needs to figure out how to deal with his feelings and his anger. And he needs to deal with Justin because he's just as messed up as Alex is about this. Justin will always love him like a son, and Sonny will always love him like a brother. Everything else is pretty meaningless.
*****
After Sonny leaves, Vivian shows up. She tells Alex now that he's Victor's rightful heir, the two of them can team up and take the company from Maggie. Alex has no beef with Maggie.
And Alex physically escorts Vivian out of his apartment.
But after Vivian leaves, Alex recalls her words about having the guts to take over Titan.

When was Justin this outstanding model citizen He was always a womanising creep in my books and made it more believable that he is Alex’s dad This scene was just stupid

Alex's pity party was a little hard to take. He was sounding extremely immature.

It seems to me Alex might be vulnerable to Vivian's persuasion. Bad move mate.
I didn't care for his exchanges with Sonny.

At least that's in character. I don't necessarily dislike Alex, but he is immature and self-absorbed, so it makes sense to me that this is what would come out when faced with something life changing.

I must have watched a different show because I thought these scenes were strong. I didn't like Alex's attitude but for the first time, I found him interesting.

I enjoyed the scenes between him and Sonny. I thought they were fairly realistic and I both felt for Alex and frustrated by him at the same time.

It makes sense to me that Alex is feeling like his whole life has been a lie. It's only been 24 hours at the most since he found out. He needs time to process the shocking news.
I liked Sonny bringing up Adrienne being Alex's mom in every way other than biologically.
