Nicole is glad EJ is finally home. He apologizes for missing dinner. He had to sort through resumes for a new IT manager. Nicole asks why he fired Wendy. He tells her. Nicole hopes Wendy didn't find anything out about EJ hiring the hit on Ava. EJ assures she didn't, though Wendy threw him off saying that Susan is alive.
Nicole asks where Wendy got that idea. EJ says Ava made it up to save herself. Nicole is skeptical. Maybe Susan IS alive. EJ says then why didn't she call me? Nicole says maybe she's in hiding. EJ says Susan is not like normal people and would contact him psychically. The lights go out all of a sudden.
Nicole insists it's a sign from Susan. EJ says it is not. Susan is not that subtle. She'd have skywriting that she was alive or a Ouija board. The lights come back on and EJ says he told her so.
EJ calls the power company and learns that a car crashed into a utility pole, knocking power out in the neighbourhood. Nicole points out that the mansion and grounds are the whole neighbourhood. Nevertheless, EJ says Ava is a liar and hopefully she will soon rot in hell for killing his mother.

Amusing quick hitting jabs here. My favorite was when Nicole mentioned getting an IT tomorrow prompting EJ to casually reply he needed one yesterday.
Odd reference of the day? EJ mentioning Anne Baxter in "I Want to Live." She was a great actress but was supremely strange too. She was in "All About Eve" of course, one of the greatest movies ever made. And if I am not mistaken Marilyn Monroe's movie debut. That movie had big time star power headlined by the incomparable Bette Davis.

Felt like big time filler. They are sitting around in the dark waiting for another shoe to drop.
