Shawn leaves a message for his Mom, asking her to give him a callback. Belle arrives. She’s glad to see him. He’s worried about Hope. Unfortunately, she isn’t returning his calls, and her phone goes straight to voicemail. Belle assures him that she’s probably just busy.
Shawn is worried about his mother and the Megan Hathaway case. Belle is relieved that Steve and John are looking for that “murderous bitch.” She wishes she could throw herself into the search to take her mind off her grief. But even if they do find Megan, it doesn’t change anything. No matter how much Megan or Orpheus pay, Belle will never get what she wants—more time with her Mom.
She knows Shawn understands how she feels having lost his Dad. Belle assures him that Bo would be so proud of all he’s accomplished and that he honors his father by dedicating his life to protecting and helping the people of Salem. Shawn is saddened by everything his father has missed out on, including watching Claire grow up. There isn’t a day that goes by that Shawn doesn’t think about him, but he’s made peace with it. Bo’s death was terrible and tragic, but it made sense. What happened with Marlena made no sense at all. He’d give anything to help Belle with this pain.
Shawn says they’ll never stop missing their parents, but time will help. There are days he still feels the loss acutely, but other times he can remember the fun times they had, and it makes it less painful. And it helps when he reminds himself how lucky he is to share his life with Belle. He loves her with all his heart. She loves him with all her heart too, and she needs him so much. Shawn assures her she has him now and always. And they have an incredible daughter and a great big family to lean on.
Shawn is officially off the clock. What if they go home and lean on each other on the couch? Belle thinks that sounds really good.

Gosh it was nice to see these two sharing some warm, supportive moments. I could look at Brandon Beemer all day.

I like that Shawn and Belle were able to spend some time together and comfort each other. It’s nice to see a couple doing slightly normal things like talking or cuddling for a change.

Great scenes! It's wild this is the first time these two have gotten to discuss Marlena's death, but the dialogue and sentiments were very good.
