What are some of your all time favourite children’s books Either ones you remember from a kid or ones you read to your children
Some of mine include: I love you forever Horton hears a who Oh the places you’ll go (Pretty well anything my dr Seuss as I read a lot to My kids, excellent for phonics and great words of wisdom)

Probably my all-time favorites would be The Railway Series, most which were originally written by the Rev. W. Awdry, with much of the later books written by his son, Christopher.
Also, love the Winnie the Pooh books, the originals by A.A. Milne!

Does the Railway Series include The Boxcar Children? I loved that book.
I don't remember a ton from the really early years but I'd say the Ramona books.

Not quite, wendylou. I did love The Boxcar Children, as well, but they were written by a totally different author. The Railway Series were the books that were used as the inspiration for Thomas the Tank Engine. Oh my gosh! I can’t believe I forgot Ramona! I loved those books! And I just thought of another, the Shiloh trilogy.

When I was little we had a whole bunch of "Big Little Books" in the house. They were little hardcover books with stories from cartoons or comics to Dick Tracy and the like.
When I outgrew those I got hooked on The Hardy Boys series. My sister loved the Nancy Drew books. I tried reading some of them but they were boring.
My daughter loved the Goosebumps and (I think) Babysitter's Club, she may have only liked that one. My son loved The Berenstain Bears and another series, I'll find out from him what that was.

Where The Wild Things Are is my favorite. I also loved the Beverly Cleary books. There was also a book called the Wicked Wicked Ladies in the Haunted House that I read as a child. It was kind of scary but it was also interesting because it had some time-travel elements in it. When my sons were little they liked the Goosebumps series, Frog and Toad, Dr. Suess and Sesame Street books. We had this one bookcase that had lots of books when I was growing up. I don't remember where all the books came from, but it was fun reading them. One book I esp. liked that isn't a children's book is called Up The Down Staircase, about a teacher's adventures teaching at a challenging school.

My favorite books were the Little House on the Prairie series, Bridge to Terebithia, and Tom Sawyer. I remember my 2nd grade teacher was really into the Little House TV series and books. Almost every day she would read a story from the books, I always looked forward to it.
