I might try to hang for another season without Peggy but I doubt I would make it through. Mad Men needs Peggy and Joan to keep me engaged. Don's great and all but he's not a show into himself. Those two characters and Peggy even more so than Joan are the ones I relate to best, without them it would just feel like I was intruding on the '60s boys club and I would likely tune out rather quickly.

I don't get the impression either woman is going anywhere. When Weiner said Peggy needed to leave, I took it to mean she needed to leave the agency in order for the character to grow. He also hinted at a relationship between Peggy and Don that wouldn't happen if she still worked for SCDP. Why, I don't know. They've both had affairs with coworkers. Wonder if they'll keep the "Pryce" in the agency name.

I understood Weiner to be saying that as well. I agree that both seem to be staying (at least for now); I was just speaking in general and saying that it is a wise decision to keep Peggy on the show because I don't think it would be much of a show without her.

Mad Men Earns 17 Emmy Nominations, Including Best Drama, Writing, Actor & Actress

The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has announced the nominees for the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, and Mad Men received 17 nominations -- making it the most nominated basic cable drama of all time with a record total of 85 nominations. The series was nominated in categories including Outstanding Drama, Outstanding Actor (Jon Hamm), Outstanding Actress (Elisabeth Moss), Outstanding Supporting Actor (Jared Harris), Outstanding Supporting Actress (Christina Hendricks) and Outstanding Writing (Matthew Weiner).

AMC received a total of 34 nominations. In addition to Mad Men, Breaking Bad was honored in 13 categories including Outstanding Drama, The Walking Dead received nods in 3 categories like Outstanding Special Visual Effects and Hell on Wheels earned a nomination for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music.
