Embarrassing story time: I used to be on this other board a while back and we actually sent a little Phloe tree to them. I think it was a Magnolia and it came with a charm that we had them put P & C forever on. āŗļø Iām sure thatās what inspired the sapling story. š
Anyway, this actually sounds good. Iām looking forward to it and I love that it was featured in the magazine. Thanks for posting.

I was almost excited until I read that she will still have a pull toward Brady
If thatās the case Philip isnāt wrong being jealous itās warranted and sheās wrong to scold

This will be begging for a flashback to the time Philip inscribed their initials in the tree (and not when he chopped it down, and yes, wendylou you probably blocked it out the way I blocked out all things Broe.) They waste time on Bonnie flashbacks to all her murders. They've got the original Philip and Chloe back and newer viewers as well as Phloe fans absolutely NEED the flashback. In any case, I am grateful for the nod to their history, because Chloe's been acting like only she and Brady have a history. doolfan4life, I'm nervous too, like Brady or Gabi will show up and ruin the day. |

What did you all think of the picnic? Frankly, I was a little disappointed. I loved the flashbacks, but they were way too short, considering how Days loves to go on and on with meaningless flashbacks. These flashbacks would mean a lot, both to Phloe fans and newer viewers who are not yet invested. Philip was working so hard, and Chloe didn't give him a lot of encouragement or appreciation. I thought she was kind of negative.  From the previews & pix, I expected more from this picnic. I was so looking forward to this picnic, which may be why I feel let down. Too much buildup. My own fault. |

Havenāt seen it yet but Iām not surprised. This writing team is obsessed with stunt writing and romance is way at the bottom of their list.

I enjoyed it a lot. Philip wanting to start over and Chloe teasing him about how long it'll take the sapling to grow, leading to him saying he intends for them to be together a long time were all sweet moments.
It wasn't that the flashbacks were too short. It's that other flashbacks are too long and never get to the point. These were perfect IMO. They showed exactly what newer viewers needed to know without wasting time.
I loved these scenes and want more like them.

I agree that the flashbacks could have been longer. I was glad to see them spending time together outside of the office. I hope that we get more of these scenes soon.

I really enjoyed the picnic and thought the flashbacks were perfect. I loved how sweet Philip was and how he has hopes for their future. I thought Chloe was very appreciative and was just being playful with her teasing comments.
This episode truly showcased that Phloe still have it. The writers just need to follow through and give them an actual chance. JKJ and NB light up around each other. Jay was more relaxed and I loved that he was smiling and his dimples were on full display. NB was being cute and flirty. This episode actually gave me hope for my favorite couple.

I'm sorry to the hardcore Phloe fans who were a bit disappointed with this. I know y'all were looking forward to it!
I did appreciate the flashbacks, and their overall vibe was really sweet and more engaging than it's been lately. Plus I'm liking Philip more again with this snazzy new haircut. But I want to SEE them fall in love again. It feels like the writing has totally danced around that pretty crucial part of the story!
