That's illogical. Someone should have submitted that scene.
He was fabulous in them. I FELT his anger and his anguish and frustration. Gotta give some credit to Louise Sorel too. She was wonderful in the scene. Only her beloved Philip could make Vivian Alamain cower in fear.

I agree if he would have submitted those scenes he for sure would have gotten at the very least a nomination. He actually submitted an episode surrounding Melanie's shooting where he is getting support from Victor and Kate. Jay's always great, but nothing else he did in 2010 can compare to those scenes with him and Louise. I was really surprised with his choice, maybe because he was already leaving the show when the whole submissions process happened he didn't necessary care about the Emmy's anymore.

I think his scenes with Victor and Kate were great. Emmy people tend to like subtle examples of your acting ability vs over the top ones...like heavy anger or crying. I think he made a good choice with his submission.
SO many fans like these scenes with him and Louise, but my favorites of the shooting storyline were when he was in the hospital waiting room while Mel was in surgery (with his family etc). He was trying to keep it together and he was at war with his emotions. It was subtle and such a fine example of his talent IMO.
Another scene he was great in during 2010 was when he overheard about the letter. Those scenes in the kitchen with Melanie were so well done. I think every emotion played over his face in that scene. They were just spot on.

We were talking about Jay's emmy submission for 2010. And I know most people disagreed with his choice of submitting a hospital ep vs the Vivian fireplace poker episode.
And I was saying that the best submissions are ones that show subtle and natural emotion vs anger/crying etc...so I understand why he made the choice he did. I wanted to put up the clips of the day he submitted. I can't remember if it was the 17th or the 18th so I put up both.
Looking at Jay in these, I know I need to replace these on my channel in high quality. We need to see his talent clearly. Many actors can do big emotions. It is the fine actor that can keep things small...that can evoke feeling with just a facial expression, a tear filled glance or a break in his voice. Jay can do all of those things. These two episodes really show his range as an actor.
