I saw on Facebook fan page that Maggie is leaving?
Has anyone else heard this?
Some of the comments fans said she was unwell and that may be the reason why
I so hope this is a rumor
We don’t get much of her these days but I’d still miss her
She’s a great character and Salem would be lost without

According to Soap Opera Digest, Suzanne Rogers is taking a temporary break. They didn't go into why. The in-universe reason is the Maggie wants to visit Summer (though heaven knows why when her last visit went so well.)

If she has to leave for a while, it should be to visit Melissa or Melanie, not Summer. I thought Summer died by now.

SUZANNE ROGERS ON LEAVE...
As "Days" fans learned in today's episode, Sarah told Xander that Maggie has left Salem to visit her daughter Summer in Las Vegas. Soap Opera Digest recently reported that Suzanne Rogers (Maggie) is taking a break. Rogers remains in the contract credits, but no word yet as to when she will return.

“For months, I was just a basket case,” admits Rogers, who handles the care of her elderly mother, Edna. “My mom came out to California and was here [living with me] for 23 years. It was just last year that I had to put her in a board and care facility, because it was too much to take care of myself. It was hard going through that stage. It’s not easy.”
Rogers reveals that her mother has dementia. “The doctors say she has Alzheimer’s, but I don’t know, somehow saying dementia isn’t as bad as Alzheimer’s,” she admits. “I think she knows who I am, but she’s also mad. She’s still got that fire in her. She’s mad that she can’t do what she wants to do or be where she wants to be. So that’s what’s hard on me, because I know she’s where she has to be.

SUZANNE ROGERS RETURNS TO "DAYS"...

Several "Days" actors have mentioned recently that Suzanne Rogers has returned to work at "Days", so look for Maggie's return later in the year! This is only the second time since Rogers joined "Days" in August 1973 that she has been off-screen for more than 3 months in a row (November 1984-July 1985 and February 2021-Present).
