It doesn't have to have sex... only possible seduction. The aura of possible sex is sexier than actual sex. Why does romance always have to lead to sex? In old days, the movies were so much sexier because it left stuff to one's imagination, instead of naked bodies and such. That beach scene in From here to eternity was sexy not because they were naked & having sex... You need to be reading my fic. LOL I am all about sensuality. I think that is because I am an old movie junkie, and I tend to find the almost kiss far hotter than an actual one. I definitely bow down to the writers than can make things hot and steamy. I never feel like I can get that level of eroticism right.

I love the idea of this thread because even though I've never tried to write fan fics I love to read and analyze them. I really like hearing about your writing processes too.

According to Soap Central, her birthday was changed to August 20th. I think that's close to Nadia's actual birthday.

Do you write to a soundtrack? Or listen to certain songs to set the mood while writing? I know for me music and writing go hand and hand.

Are you asking anyone in particular?
Myself, I might use a song for inspiration for the plot of the story, or for a scene, but mostly I write while I'm bored. I hate not having something stimulating to do, so that's when I disappear into my own world and write what I see. I'll completely zone out and not hear anything going on around me. Sometimes, I'm so involved with what I'm writing, I don't even really "see" the computer screen anymore. Does that make sense?

Just asking in general...wanted to hear how others create. Definitely understand being so in the zone the screen disappears.
Right now I have Daughtry playing getting myself geared up for some angsty writing.
For my story Undertow, I have a set soundtrack, almost all the songs are by Lifehouse. So when I sit down and write I will turn on my Lifehouse playlist on my ipod and get lost in their little world.

We've talked about this offline, so you know that I totally get inspired by music.
Often, a song becomes the anthem to a story I'm writing and I just listen to it over and over on Repeat Track. Then I will often use that song in the story or create a video (with help) using that song.
Sometimes a song will inspire a whole story, like the Moody Blues' I Know You're Out There Somewhere inspired Lucas's Last Stand (and the video to go with it was created in partnership with Kazz).
For After the Fall, the anthem was Billy Joel's A Matter of Trust For Passions, the anthem was Brian Adams's Please Forgive Me (and the video to go with it was created in partnership with Shi22) For Best Laid Plans, the anthem was Kenny Loggins's Too Early For the Sun (and the video to go with it was created in partnership with Slyn) For the Weary Kind, the anthem was The Weary Kind (and the video to go with it was created in partnership with Shi22) For A Love Affair to Remember, the anthem was Until It's Time For You to Go (and the video to go with it was created in partnership with Kazz)
There's more, but you get the idea. I love having an inspirational song, and more often than not the song chooses the story, I don't go looking for it.

Ooh, I like this thread. I have a question to pose, since I'm going to have to start writing Being again soon...anyone reading: Are there any characters you'd like to see featured that haven't been? Anything that I might have left dangling (aside from the fact that the story's not over, of course) and you need to understand?

I'm someone who likes simplicity in a story. Unless it's an epic like Last Days of Our Lives, Lost Days of Our Lives, or Nights of Our Lives, I tend to focus on one storyline per story, but then again, I write a lot of different stories.
Fifi, I think you have done an awesome job with Being. The dialogue and characters and thought processes are very true to life, so to speak. I'm mainly interested in the main plotline with Philip and Chloe.
