THE CONDO
Philip: Hey, let’s tell Parker his parents are going to make it legal. Chloe: Um, I already told him. Sorry. ... I asked him to be quiet while Mommy proposes to Daddy. Philip laughed. Philip: And he didn’t tell you that I was planning to propose? The kid knows how to keep a secret. Philip scooped Chloe into his arms. Chloe: What are you doing? What about telling Parker? Philip: Oh, we’ll tell him. But I changed my mind. I think we should have a private celebration first. Don’t you? Chloe: Oh definitely.
PARKER’S BEDROOM
From his crib, Parker has heard his parents’ whole conversation. Parker: Tell me now or tell me later. I don’t care. I knew the whole time how the story was gonna end. And yes Daddy, I do know how to keep a secret. If babies could talk! Ha! Parker bounced up and down in his crib gleefully and flopped onto his back. He reached for his smartphone. Parker: Now that it’s official, I gotta tell my Facebook friends and Twitter followers. “Start spreading the news. ... I’m legal today.”
PHILIP AND CHLOE’S BEDROOM
Philip carried Chloe into the bedroom and he put her down on their bed. He climbed on top of her and kissed her. She unknotted his tie and undid his collar button, but left his dogtags on. Chloe: This calls for something special. Philip: You’re not gonna tear my shirt, are you? Chloe: You used to be fun when you were single. Philip chuckled. Philip: Oh okay. Go for it. Chloe smiled and ripped Philip’s shirt open. She ran her hands over his bare chest and he fingered her blouse. Philip: Do I dare? Chloe: Tear it and I’ll kill you. Philip laughed and he gently pulled her blouse over her head and proceeded to kiss her lips, her neck, her shoulders and her chest. As he removed her bra, his fingers skated over her breasts and his lips worked their way down the length of her body. Chloe: Oh god, now I know why I want to marry you. Philip: Why? Chloe: Because ... nobody does it better. Philip: I feel so used. Chloe pulled him back up and kissed his lips. Chloe: And I plan to “use” you every day for the rest of your life, Kiriakis. Philip: I’m gonna hold you to that. Philip took Chloe in his arms and his lips melted into hers. He stopped to look at her naked body while his hands deftly followed her curves. He whispered to her. Philip: I shouldn’t tell you what I’m thinking. Chloe: Oh yes you should. Tell me what you’re thinking. Philip: This may sound selfish. Or childish. Or both, but ... I’m thinking that you belong to me. You’re mine. You’re finally all mine. Chloe: Oh Philip. Don’t you know? I’ve always been yours.

Thank you all so much for sticking with this story that started with After the Fall, continued with Chasing the Moon, and concluded with A Question of Love. Show of hands: How many of you figured out that there was going to be a proposal based on the title “A Question of Love”? Because the question of love was the proposal and I was afraid the title was a dead giveaway. So this trilogy started with After the Fall by following the actual on-air storyline where Chloe leaves Salem after the prostitution and arrives in Chicago, much worse for wear. She was weak, unsure, and insecure and had low self-esteem. She and Philip had a lot of issues to work through. They both blamed each other for the events that had transpired, they were wary, and their friendship had been damaged. They ultimately each took responsibility for their parts in everything that had occurred and they agreed to work on rebuilding their friendship and trust. In Chasing the Moon, Chloe’s confidence began to return. Thanks to Philip’s friendship and empathy, and giving her unlimited access to Parker, Chloe was able to start rebuilding her life. Yet she was still not in control. Because of their daily proximity and interactions, Chloe and Philip fell in love but she fought her feelings tooth and nail, distrusting her own emotions, and afraid of the possibility of another failed relationship, especially when the relationship was with the father of her child. She believed the risk was greater than the reward. It took Philip pulling out all the stops to prove that he loved her. In the end, she was able to accept and return his love -- literally -- using touchstones that he had given to her. She gave him back both the poem and the dog tag, adding something to each. She added a frame to the poem, and an inscription to the dog tag, letting him know that she loved him too. In A Question of Love, Philip was jealous of Brady, and Chloe was jealous of Philip’s exes. Brady planted a seed in Chloe’s mind about marriage, and finding those photographs made her feel insecure about Philip’s level of commitment to her. What she didn’t realize was that, in his mind, he had proposed to her many times. Even though it was in the distant past, the sting of rejection and noncommitment on Chloe’s part stayed with him. Once Chloe realized that fact, she knew that it was her turn to take control. To me, that was an important aspect of this trilogy. Chloe is someone who has always allowed life to happen to her. By proposing, she finally took control of her own destiny, and at the same, gave Philip the reassurance he needed. It was a lot of fun for me to integrate Parker into this story as more than just a prop. He “thought” the things that we, as viewers, yell at the screen. Judging from your comments, I think you enjoyed reading his thoughts as much as I enjoyed writing them. Thank you again for your readership, your loyalty and your fantastic comments. They are chicken soup for the author’s soul. Coming Up-A new story starts tomorrow, unravelling Alice’s secrets. -That story is followed by History Lessons, which showcases Jack Deveraux. -After that, we will FINALLY get back to the All My Exes/Passions saga. -And the next part of this story continues with Destiny's Child.

Thanks for the great commentary Kpatch. I am thrilled that you were able to turn the hideous prostitiution storyline into a fabulous trilogy. I loved seeing the progression of their relationship through the three stories. Parker was a fun addition to the trilogy.

Thanks for the insight. And no the title didn't give it away. I thought when Chloe found the pictures and then Brady showing up that was the question of love when Chloe was questioning Philip and likewise.

No, the title didn't give it away, esp. with the drama in the beginning. You are a master of suspense...
