I belong to this FB groups for Days and I can't believe the number of members that LOVE LOVE LOVE Ciara & Ben & think this Eve story is horrible. Just horrible what they are doing to him and that he served his time for the murders. Only a very few members disagree in some aspect. They are so irate that they are threatening to stop watching until it is over. They absolutely hate what the writers are doing to this couple.
I am not completely against this story as it is a soap opera & most likely it will have a happy ending. I doubt Ben will actually kill Ciara. My bet is she will save him yet again. (these poor delusionals also believe Paige isn't dead) A soap is supposed to be a bit unbelievable, a little over the top & Eve exploding like this could be possible to someone a bit unstable. Eve has always bit back & forth personality-wise.
How do you feel about Ben & Ciara as a couple & do you feel he served his time?

I hate this story. I'm not a fan of Ben and Ciara, but this is over the top, out of character for Eve, and disrespectful to Paige's memory.

I don't like the idea of viewers deciding to "protest" the storyline and boycott the show just because they don't like the direction of a story arc. Super couples (and I'm not say that's what Ben and Ciara are) are often separated immediately after they get married. This is a soap, not a harlequin romance. I can't count the number of times I've been disappointed in the outcome of a story or the breakup of a favorite couple, but I haven't stopped watching yet.
The writers have the right to write what they want. I'm more disappointed that we never saw Maggie and Victor have that heart-to-heart after she got out of jail, and that after years of waiting for Steve and Kayla to reunite, their reunion is tepid and mostly off-screen.
But I'm still watching.

I feel boycotting the show also puts the future in jeopardy. I can't even fathom the day it were ever to be canceled. I have been watching almost from the beginning and there have been many many stories I disliked but they ended & others began. That is what happens for a show that has been on-air for almost 55 years.
They also hate the fact this story is happening now with the way the world is now.. They don't even comprehend this was filmed pre-covid. They had no way to know this would happen.
My surprise was the dedication to Ben & Ciara as a couple and how much they love each of them! How they truly believed Ben has served his time. Yikes!
I edited my first post as it wasn't supposed to be how you feel about the Eve story, it's about Ben & Ciara and Ben's being now a good guy.

I’m not a cin fan and I definitely don’t feel sorry for eve cuz I just don’t like her character And admittedly I have taken breaks from dool when I literally hate each story line But if it’s only a few that’s what dvr and fast forward is for I’m pretty sure my fast forward button got me through some painful couples like Aiden and hope and boring couples like JJ and Paige, Eli and lani and hope and rafe etc I’ll be honest I don’t like the violence and torture in this so I’ll be fast forwarding it a lot As much as the writers have a right to write what ever, the viewers have the same right to boycott if they don’t like They didn’t sign a contract to stay invested That’s just the way it is unfortunately

I’ve seen the cin fans and their outrage too. I honestly feel like a lot of their fans are younger or newer to the show. I might be wrong about that.
I’ve stopped watching before but it more out of a complete lack of interest in the stories at the time, not an acupuncture boycott.
I doubt a boycott would do anything anyway. They’ve filmed way ahead and they’re not likely to redo things, especially with the pandemic.
I don’t like the couple or this revenge story.

At first I kind of liked Cin. I wasn't crazy about the fact that Ben is a serial killer. The cabin scenes between them when he rescued Ciara from the motorcycle accident I thought were well done. It has never been ok with me though that Ben didn't get the punishment he should've gotten for the murders. I do take into account he is a tortured soul who never really had a chance. Doesn't excuse being a serial killer of course. And I have said before I like RSW's portrayal of him. He humanizes him in a way. He isn't a complete monster although he has done horrible things.
But I can completely and totally understand Eve's desire for revenge, especially since Ben got to get married and Paige had barely started living her life. I think that was the final straw for her. Eve involving anyone else besides Ben though crosses the line. And I could see it on her face as she was torturing him today. She didn't look like she was getting justice, she looked like she was in emotional pain that can never be quenched by doing this. If she wants revenge this is not the way. She will never get true peace by hurting Ben. I didn't find the torture scenes entertaining in any way.
I think young people like Cin because they see them in a beauty and the beast sort of way, in a way that is fictional and romantic. They are overlooking the fact that he is a serial killer because it is a soap opera.
That being said it isn't normal and ok that Ben was able to get married and have a chance at a normal life. That just isn't realistic, although I am looking at it from a standpoint from him trying to redeem himself. His friendship with Will is a part of that redemption of his character.
It is a fictional story and IRL I don't consider most of the storylines as things that would normally happen. It is fantasy. That is how I look at it. But sometimes the writers go too far.

I agree with this part because I saw the same phenomenon when Kevin and Lucy became a couple on 7th Heaven. As an older viewer, who was in college at the time, I couldn't see the attraction. Kevin was controlling and completely squashed any character growth and self-confidence that Lucy had obtained throughout the years before she met him. I couldn't stand them together and was not a happy fan when they got married and started having kids. Yet people loved them because they were just so cute together (not my words, obviously). That is the kind of thing younger fans say. They are mostly looking at appearance and find things like lots of overly sweet and sickening love scenes to be romantic. They are just looking at the surface and aren't looking at the deeper problems, challenges, and inner workings of the relationship such as Ben's serial killer past or Ciara's lack of a life outside of him.
