Hi everyone I was just watching Sex and the City last night and was wondering if Philip was recast with Jason Lewis would you support it? Jason Lewis plays Smith Jerrod one of the many boyfriends of Samantha Jones. I'm a HUGE Philip fan I always have been and I was beyond distaught when he left Days. I told myself even if his character was given a recast I would not watch. But I'm torn with this idea I mean no one could replace Jay he'll always be Philip to me. But Jason Lewis is incredibly sexy I would still perfer Jay but I gotta admit I wouldn't mind if Jason Lewis played the role of Philip Kiriakis. He's certainly sexy enough, but I think he's too old to play Philip. Plus, I'm pretty sure you're gonna get a lot of folks saying Philip is ONLY Jay.  |

I agree with you all 100%. JKJ is the only actor that could be Philip I love him soooooo much and anybody else would be an imposter! But this guy is sexy! He would be a hot Philip recast definitley better than Kyle Brandt but he's just too old!

I would just want to see him naked all the time. I got spoiled by him on SATC. He spent a lot of his time on the show without clothes....

Thanks for the thought phloefan, but you know me. I always say "accept no substitutes" where Philip is concerned.
I've never seen Jason Lewis act. He's handsome sure, but Philip is way more than handsome. A lot of what makes Jay K Johnson the perfect Philip has to do with the intangibles. It's the whole package: The look, the smile, the intensity, the pain, the way he makes a simple line of dialogue into an important moment, his unique talent ... so no, I don't want Days to bring Philip to the canvas unless he's played by the one and only Jay.

I like Jay in the role as Phillip. He has the smile that will melt anyone's heart and that's how Phillip has always been written. I'm not against him coming to Days as a new character with no relation/ties to the current families.

Jason Lewis...I loved him in Sex in the City. I don't know if he has the acting chops to pull off Philip intensity though. And he is a smidge too old I think.
I have been fantasy recasting Philip a lot. I know many here think Jay or nothing. But I think the show needs a Philip (even if it is not Jay) or someone to fill the Philip TYPE. It is so clear that this TYPE of character is missing from Days.
