THE CONDO, THE NEXT EVENING

Chloe was in Philip’s bedroom helping him pick out clothes to pack for their trip to Florida the next day. Parker was in his carrier on the floor.

Philip: Thanks for helping me with this. I don’t know why I can’t seem to figure this out for myself.
Parker: It doesn’t bode well for me, genetically speaking.
Chloe: I think it’s because Rachel makes you nervous. Because you really like her.
Parker: Who’s Rachel? Why am I always the last to know? Is it because I have a short attention span?
Philip: Well, I admit it’s been a while since I’ve felt this way about someone.
Chloe: I’m glad you like her. She’s really nice, even though she’s a little ... well very ... assertive. Even pushy.
Philip laughed.
Philip: I think it has something to do with her line of work. Basically, she’s in sales.
Chloe: I guess she sold you, huh?
Philip: Pretty much. Hey, what about you?
Chloe: Um, sorry?
Philip: Don’t you have to pack?
Chloe: Oh, don’t worry. I’m mentally packed. I know what I’m bringing.
Parker: Oh good. That means it will take her 7 hours to pack instead of 8.
Philip: So, are you excited about singing?
Chloe: I am. I’m also nervous.
Philip: Don’t be. You’re gonna be sensational.
Chloe: Thanks. I hope I won’t seem rusty.
Philip: You’ll get to rehearse, right?
Chloe: Oh definitely. ... Make sure you pack this. This outfit is really sharp. It’s perfect if you guys go dancing.
Philip: Dancing? Wow, I hadn’t thought about dancing. I haven’t gone dancing in ... hell, I can’t remember the last time. I’m not sure I even remember how.
Parker: My parents are sooo lame.
Chloe: Of course you remember how. Dancing isn’t something you forget how to do.
Parker: And they’re boring too. I think I’ll take a nap.
Parker nodded off.
Philip: Maybe. But it’s something you can get rusty at. Like singing.
Chloe: Ha. Point taken. Um. Come here.
Philip: What?
Chloe: Come here. Let’s dance. I’ll give you a little refresher course. And I won’t even charge you.
Chloe put one arm around Philip’s neck and he put his hand on her waist. She took his other hand in hers, and they rocked back and forth while looking into each other’s eyes.
Chloe: This kind of reminds me of when you taught me how to ice skate. Remember?
Philip: I remember. ... Chloe, I remember everything. That was the first time I told you I loved you.
Chloe: That’s right.
Philip: The first of many times. And I read you the poem I wrote for you.
Chloe: I loved that poem.
Philip: And I told you I’d never let you fall.
Chloe: But I did.
Philip looked at Chloe and suddenly he was having a hard time thinking. So was Chloe.
Philip: Did you? I guess there are some things I don’t remember.
Chloe: Me either.

Philip felt his heart rate accelerating. The feel of Chloe’s body, reminders of the past, emotions of the present, the seductive closeness mixed with her perfume filled his senses and made his mind go blank. He was completely lost in Chloe’s eyes.
Philip: Did you say something?
Chloe: I said you’re a natural. It’s not so hard, is it?

PHILIP’S BEDROOM

Chloe: Come here. Let’s dance. I’ll give you a little refresher course. And I won’t even charge you.

Chloe recognized that look in Philip’s eyes. She felt herself growing more nervous by the second. This is what she wants but is she ready? Even if she’s not, she felt powerless to fight her feelings. Little by little, they moved closer to each other, closing the gap of space between their bodies. Chloe felt Philip tighten his hold around her and if he didn’t kiss her soon, she was going to have to make the first move. She didn’t even realize that she was playing with the hair on the back of his head, but it was sending chills up his spine. He ran his hand over her hair, and their faces were almost touching.
Chloe: Philip.
That was it. Hearing her whisper his name sent him reeling and his emotions took over. Philip’s lips found Chloe’s mouth and she put her arms around him. His hands moved up and down her back as he lifted her off the floor and the two of them fell onto Philip’s bed. The kisses were feverish and urgent, and deepening by the moment. Chloe could hardly remember the last time she kissed anyone she cared for this much and it felt amazing. But then, as his hands began to roam the front of her body, Chloe came back to earth. She stiffened and pushed him away.
Chloe: No, stop.
She got up off the bed. Philip sat up and looked at her as he tried to catch his breath.
Chloe: This isn’t right.
Philip stood up and put his hands on Chloe’s face.
Philip: Yes. Yes it is.
He kissed her and she started to respond, and then snapped back to reality.
Chloe: No, it isn’t. It felt like ... I won’t do that anymore. Not with you, not with anyone.
Philip: Excuse me? What won’t you ...
Chloe: I won’t have a one night stand. No more meaningless sex. Ever again.
Philip: Meaningless???
Chloe: You’re involved with someone, Philip. Remember? You just said you really care about her. And I’ll be damned if I’ll be the other woman. If you want a relationship with me, then tell me. If you don’t, then ... never touch me that way again.

She left the bedroom. Philip stood there stunned, not quite knowing what to make of what just happened. He looked over at Parker who was now awake and appeared to be shaking his head in disappointment.
Parker: You blew it Dad. Big time.
Philip: She wanted me to kiss her. What was I supposed to do?
Parker rubbed his eyes and Philip picked him up out of the carrier.
Philip: You seem to know a lot more than you’re saying, big guy. So tell me something. What did I do wrong?

Yes apart of me wanted Phloe to continue but another part of me wanted her to stop tell him how she felt and then he would tell her he felt the same way! But I'm happy they at least kissed! Now he needs to quite Rachel and tell Chloe how he feels. Can't wait to read MORE!

THE CONDO, THURSDAY MORNING

Philip wheeled his suitcase into the foyer. He noticed that Chloe’s bedroom door was still closed. He went over and stood outside her room, took a deep breath, and knocked on the door.

Philip: Chloe, we need to talk.
He knocked again.
Philip: Chloe? ... Okay, listen. I know you’re upset about last night and I’m sorry. Actually, I’m not sorry. You said if I want a relationship with you, I should tell you. I hope you meant that, because ... I do. In fact, there’s nothing I want more. See, you aren’t the other woman in my life, Chloe. You’re the woman. You’re the woman I want. We can have it all, sweetie. You, me, Parker -- we can have the moon and the stars. We can finally have everything we ever wanted. And Chloe, I’ve always wanted you. Always. ... Chloe? Please say something.

Just then, Philip heard a key turning in the front door. He turned around and watched as Chloe and Lucinda entered the apartment. Chloe saw the surprised looked on Philip’s face.

Chloe: You okay?
Philip: Where were you?
Chloe: I went for a run. I ran into Lucinda downstairs in the lobby.
Lucinda: Hello Mr. Kiriakis.
Philip: Hi Lucinda. Hey, thanks for agreeing to stay with Parker on such short notice.
Lucinda: It’s my pleasure.
Chloe: Lucinda, let’s go into Parker’s room and I’ll fill you in on some things you’ll need to know while we’re gone.
Philip: Chloe, wait.
Chloe: Yes?
Philip: Can we talk?
Chloe: Sure, after I give Lucinda some instructions.

The doorbell rang.
Chloe: Could you answer that, Philip? It’s probably Rachel.
Philip answered the front door, while Chloe and Lucinda headed for Parker’s room.

Rachel: Hi handsome.
Rachel kissed Philip.
Philip: Hi. Come on in.
Rachel: Are you ready to go? The limo is waiting.
