I'm glad Chloe found the note. Hopefully seeing Philip will go okay and he won't have any serious health problems.

I'm glad she found the note. I really hope that Philip comes through this with no additional issues, but I have a feeling that this may set off and make his PTSD worse.

Glad Philip and Chloe are reunited. Wonder who the other person Chloe runs into is, besides Gwen.

I wonder if Philip will literally have a hard time communicating, like a speech issue because of his injuries.

Chapter 25d
Chloe entered Philip’s room and pressed her lips together when she saw him lying in his hospital bed. Seeing him like this was heartbreaking. He was pale and hooked up to an IV drip. Various machines were monitoring his breathing and his oxygen levels. She instinctively pulled his blanket closer to his chin.
“Oh Philip, you poor thing. What you went through must be unimaginable.” She held his hand between both of hers and closed her eyes to say a prayer.
“Chloe. What are you doing here?”
Chloe’s eyes flashed open and she sighed a breath of relief. “I heard there was a sale on Manolo Blahniks and I just can’t resist a bargain,” she joked. She brushed his hair out of his eyes and added, “You look exhausted. How are you feeling?”
“No,” he rasped. His voice was rough as if he had a sore throat. “I mean, why are you here instead of Salem?”
Taking a seat next to the bed, she said, “Don’t you know? I couldn’t leave without you. I couldn’t bear the thought of being unable to reach you when I was a thousand miles away. I had to know you were okay.”
“I wanted you to be okay. That’s why I wanted you to go.”
“I guess we both wanted the same thing, only different.” She kissed his hand. “Anyway, we’re fine.”
“Parker?”
“He’s fine too. He really wants to see you but they won’t let children visit patients,” she explained. “He’s down the hall in the play room. Tell me about you. How do you feel?”
“Like a wrung-out mop. The good news is, I saved a family from drowning. The bad news is — or maybe this is good news too. I’ll probably never volunteer for rescue duty again. I don’t think I’m cut out for it.”
“Oh Philip.” Leaning closer, she said, “I am so proud of you for doing what you did. I just hate seeing you like this.”
He squeezed her hand. “I’ll be okay. I’m sorry you were so worried about me.”
Wiping a tear away, she said, “Hey, it’s what you do when you love someone. You were apparently worried about us too. Otherwise you wouldn’t have been searching the shelters to find us.”
“I know how freaked you were about being in a shelter.”
“Actually, it wasn’t as bad as I imagined. I mean, it wasn’t a tropical paradise or anything, but it wasn’t the nightmare I thought it was going to be. I even made a friend. A very nice older lady.”
“Good. That’s good,” he said, straining his voice to be heard. “Chloe, I’m really sorry about how we left things, about what I did.”
“Ssh.” She stroked his hair. “Save your strength. We’ll talk later.”
“I left you a note, but you never got it.”
Chloe reached in her purse and held up the wrinkled note. “I got it eventually.”
Philip nodded with relief. Coughing, he said, “I promise you, no more secrets. Do over?”
Chloe held a cup with a straw to Philip’s lips. “There’s nothing to do over. But I agree that we need to do a better job of communicating. We can talk about all that when we get you home. You just need to get well.”
He finished the water and leaned back on his pillow. “Listen, in the interest of full disclosure, I need to tell you something. It’s about Gwen.”
“Gwen?? What about her?”
“You were right all along. She has an agenda and Parker isn’t her top priority.”
Chloe’s jaw dropped and she felt her anger rising. “What did she say to you?” Before Philip could answer, he began coughing again. Rubbing his back, she quickly said, “Never mind, you don’t need to tell me right now. You can tell me later.” She could only imagine whatever it was that brought Philip to this conclusion, and it made her want to hurt Gwen. “You need to save your strength.”
Philip nodded and closed his eyes. Wearily, he said, “I know she’s made some progress with Parker, but I don’t feel we can trust her.”
“I agree. We’ll find someone else, even if it’s virtual. Listen, why don’t you try and sleep.” She stood up and kissed his forehead.
He opened his eyes and grasped her hand. “You coming back?”
Smiling warmly, she said, “Even a Category 5 hurricane couldn’t keep me away.”

So glad Philip is okay, and that he and Chloe are gonna talk about the Gwen issue when he’s up to it.

I'm glad Philip is okay. It's really disappointing Gwen turned out to be this way when she was so helpful for Parker.

Wonderful that Philip is OK. Wonderful that these two realize that they need to communicate better. Waiting for the inevitable showdown between Chloe and Gwen. No doubt Chloe will triumph.

I didn’t find Gwen the least bit helpful nothing about her methods were professional actually I’m glad that it’s out there that they need someone new She knows something happened and the conversation will happen once he’s feeling stronger I still think it would be great if they got Mary

On one hand, it's nice that they acknowledge that they need to communicate better, but on the other hand, it's deja-vu and I don't believe a word of it. They've said this before and nothing changed.
I hate that Gwen turned out this way. I feel that she really was making progress with Parker. I don't like the idea of virtual. Parker needs to be in a room where he can let out his emotions and words without fear of someone overhearing. Virtual would not give him that safe space. Also it's harder to monitor and watch Parker's reactions, fidgeting, drawings, or any other visual method. I sure hope they can find someone else close by and that Parker can continue making progress with them.

I'm relieved that Philip is going to be okay. I'm glad Chloe found the note. I hope they can find a good therapist for Parker.

Such a sweet chapter,
The fact that chloe stayed, should cement her love and dedication to philip. I think this will be the thing that really cures philip’s insecurities about chloe leaving. That will always be his one scar that cant be healed but this huge act of love from chloe should really allow philip to move forward into phloe land.
I specially loved when she said “Even a Category 5 hurricane couldn’t keep me away.”
You got me there kpatch *wipes tears* , that was beautiful.
