New Smilies are here (Read 1,372 times)

When making a new thread or post, you will see a drop down box to the left of the message area that says "Select Smilie". As you click on each name the image will appear in the space below the drop down menu. To see all of the images instead of the names, select the "View all smilies" option at the bottom of the box. Remember that only the new extra smilies are included in the "view all" box. The standard smilies are still located above the message area.

The list can be added to over time, though at some point we will want to be selective, as too many smilies could get cumbersome to sort through. Please use this thread to suggest possible new smilie additions and better yet, if you have an url to a specific smilie you would like added. If you do offer an url, please make sure it is one of the free ones that are in common usage.

When the picture comes up below the dropdown try clicking the picture itself rather than the text option ... at least that is how it just worked from my phone. I can't remember if I did the same last night or not from my home computer.

ETA: I'm not sure what went wrong DD, but I just modified your post to make the smilies show up there now. I did the same way I tried on my phone, by clicking the picture rather than the text. See if that will work for you too.

Nope. I clicked on the pic and just get text. Must be something on my end. Maybe my server blocks them or something. Oh well,

On another note, the images are all showing up for me on my decrepit work computer but none of the animation. I can see the animation from my phone however. So fyi, most of these are animated, which wasn't my preference necessarily it was just to find an assortment of ones I thought could be useful here. I'm glad to see that most of them convey the same "emotion" when static as they do when animated. However, for those of you who may not be able to see the animation, the little red smilie 3 down from the top is supposed to be rolling; he is "rolling on the floor laughing" (ROTFL). And that sad little guy 4 up from the bottom is picking himself up and exiting to the side.

Apparently, when other people do them, they work fine. So I'm going to go with operator error (ME). No worries.

Oh DD, I'm sorry it's still not working for you. Am I remembering correctly that images are sometimes blocked from your work place? If so, then please give it a try later from a different computer and see if they work for you then. If they still don't, let me know and I'll investigate the problem further.
