SALEM INN
Lucas sees Kate leave Quinn’s room. He can hear the door down the hall shut and then silence. A moment later, Lucas wheels to his hotel room door, opens it and, as he expected, Kate was standing there. Her jaw drops.
Lucas: Hi Mom.
Kate: Lucas!
Lucas: Looking for Chloe? She’s in the shower. Worked up a real sweat taking care of my needs.
He wheels back into his room and Kate follows him.
Kate: This cannot be happening!
Lucas: Why not?
Kate: After everything I’ve done to keep Chloe away from Philip and Parker … you’re having an affair with Chloe?
Lucas: Not exactly an affair. I’m paying for her services.
Kate: You’re paying for that slut?
Lucas: Probably not as much as you are.
Kate: Excuse me?
Lucas motions to Quinn’s room with his chin. Kate looks over there and turns beet red.
Kate: Oh. Hmmm. So. Um. How’s your leg, baby? Need a pillow?
Lucas: What the hell is wrong with you?
Kate: Me? Nothing’s wrong with me. If you and your brother would learn to keep your pants on, I wouldn’t be forced to intervene.
Lucas: You know what, Mom? It wouldn’t matter who we were involved with. They would never be good enough for you. There are lots of mothers who hate their daughtersinlaw, so they give them backhanded compliments, not brownies laced with arsenic.
Kate: That was just a rumor.
Lucas: I’ve argued with you about this for the last time. You have really gone over the top this time. Take a good look Mom, because this is the last time you’re ever going to lay eyes on me. And you can be sure my brother will cut you off too once he finds out what you tried to do.

Love the chapter. This line cracks me up: " If you and your brother would learn to keep your pants on, I wouldn't be forced to intervene." Kate has such a warped mind. It was fabulous seeing Lucas lay into Kate. Go Lucas!!

Wonderful chapter. Loved how Lucas pointed out that Kate was paying for Chloe's service as well. I am really hoping that Lucas is true to his word and keeps Kate out of his life. Thanks for the chapter Kpatch.
