Prologue

NBC STUDIOS

Molly: We need to talk, Dork.
Dorkay: Ah Molly m’dear. I like it when you use terms of endearment for me.
Molly: Dork is not a term of endearment you crackerhead.
Dorkay: What’s got your panties in a bunch today?
Molly: I hear that Bryan is willing to come back as Lucas and you’re dragging your feet about it.
Dorkay: I really like Bryan.
Molly: I don’t think you do.
Dorkay: No, I actually do. It’s Lucas I don’t care for. Every time he comes back, I just never know what to do with him.
Molly: You’re kidding me. A legacy character like Lucas and you don’t know how to use him?
Dorkay: I just don’t like him in any of the triangles we’ve had.
Molly: That’s because he outshines the other guy every time.
Dorkay: No no no, that’s not the reason. Lucas is the guy who never gets the girl. Ergo, there’s not much we can do with him.
Molly: Ergo, you’re a dipstick! There’s a million things I can think to do with him this minute and none of them involves a triangle. Hmmm, maybe one does, but that’s just a fantasy of mine.
Dorkay: Molly, I have work to do. If you want to create a story for Lucas, you go on ahead like a good little girl and I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Okay?
He hands her a pad and a pen.
Molly: Well, I’m no writer … but …. I know writers. Ooh I just got a great idea. I’ll call kpatch. She’ll do it. She even likes Lucas.
Dorkay: Who’s kpatch?
Molly: You know kpatch. She writes all the stories we’re in. And some other ones too. Did you know she writes exclusively for MyHourglass these days?
Dorkay: How nice. Now if you would excuse me.
Molly: I’m gonna call kpatch and get her to write a story that’ll knock your socks off.
Dorkay: Fine fine fine.
Molly: Later, Dork.

Love the Dorkay/Molly relationship... I have been looking forward to this story since you mentioned you wrote it... Rear Window is one of my all-time favorite movies!!! James Stewart & Grace Kelly!!! I can't wait for more!!!

gapeach- I've met him and he's even HOTTER in person. Mmm...

Lucas couldn’t believe what he had done. It would be one thing if he had broken his leg playing basketball or skiing down the Swiss Alps. But he had just arrived in Salem and got the lace from his tennis shoe caught in the teeth of the escalator steps at the airport. He twisted his leg so badly trying to untangle himself that he caused a hairline fracture in his leg. Wow, was it painful. First the embarrassment and then the physical ache.

To add insult to injury, Dr. McSleezy was his attending physician and he set his leg. Lucas was sure he had done it backwards just for spite. There was no love lost between those two, especially since the man who broke up his marriage had now moved on to bed Lucas’s sister.

So here he sat, in Room 416 of the Salem Inn in a wheelchair with his foot in a cast. As luck would have it, not only was his foot broken; the TV was broken, Wi-Fi was sporadic, and Lucas was bored out of his skull.

He dialed a number on his cell phone.
Lucas: Hey kiddo. How about coming to visit your old man?
Will: Sure dad. I’m studying for finals but I can use a break. I’ll be right over.
Lucas: Wait. If you’re studying for your finals, you need to concentrate on that. Nothing is more important than your education. You can come visit another time.
Will: Are you sure?
Lucas: I’m sure.
Will: Okay. Well, I’ll call you later Dad. Rest up.

Lucas hung up the phone. "Rest up." Ha! Like he had any choice.

So glad that we have a Lucas story! I really like Lucas! Does kinda stink that Daniel is Lucas' doctor. But, like MrsM said, he's a little bit better than Lexie. I'm really looking forward to this story! Thanks for the new story, jkjpatch!
