from daytime royalty daytimeroyaltyonline.com/topic/8597658/1/SOD: Quinn is Back!; November 8th issue Back in June, Bren Foster was axed from DAYS along with five other actors in a cast-cutting bloodbath. A few weeks later, the show reversed its decision and invited him to return. Foster, who last aired on September 22, will appear again on screen November 1. “I’m very pleased to be back,” says Foster. “It’s the nature of the industry. You could be working one moment, and then not working. As long as I’m working and enjoying what I’m doing I’m happy.” During his absence, Foster taped an appearance on ABC Family’s MELISSA & JOEY. “The episode hasn’t aired yet, so I can’t say too much about it,” he notes. “I go in there and stir things up a bit. I got to work closely with Melissa (Joan Hart). We had some intimate scenes. Both Melissa and Joey are lovely people. Everyone on the set was really nice. It was a great experience. This week, Quinn returns to Salem after his relationship with Taylor went bust. “Things didn’t work out between them,” reveals the actor. Nicole and EJ are stunned to see Quinn, who blackmails EJ into financing his new business venture, a spa located in Horton Square. “Quinn will also teach a bit of martial arts,” previews Foster. EJ agrees to write a check for Quinn, provided he stay legit. “He’s turned over a new leaf,” explains Foster. “Quinn is trying to find some peace within himself, as well as with society.” But will viewers be so quick to forgive his alter ego, who pushed Chloe into a life of prostitution? “I don’t know,” he candidly responds. “I believe everyone deserves a second chance. We’re all human and humans make mistakes. Quinn went through a lot in his childhood. People grow and mold into the people they become and do the things that they do for a reason. People also change. The fans who will forgive him are maybe a little more in touch with humanity and have a little more understanding of what humans are like.” In the short time that Foster has been away from DAYS, he’s noticed a change behind the scenes. “There is more camera movement,” he observes. “For instance, in an episode we shot recently, someone jumped on the set with a hand-held camera. There is also a new set built for Quinn.” www.rogue-ejami.com/2011/10/27/sod-quinn-is-back/

Hmmm...
Not sure what to think about this. I am very curious to see where it leads. Hopefully he will be in an interesting storyline. I think Quinn is redeemable. Yeah, he did some despicable things, ie blackmailing Chloe into prostitution, but we also saw him take care of Carly and a few other things. I could very easily not like this though.
Thanks for posting Karebr!

I agree, Delina. If he went with a "people are complex" and explained that while Quinn did the whole pimp thing, he also helped Carly and stood up to Kate, then yeah that would say a lot about possible redemption of Quinn. But to say that the fans who forgive Quinn are somehow better or more in touch with "humanity" (which I read as being more in touch with reality) that the fans who think Quinn is scum....please!

Glad I'm not the only one who took the comment that way and was insulted by it.How can this guy be such an arrogant jerk?Does he not realize that part of his job is to NOT alienate us?

wow, you guys, I didn't take it that way at all... I took it as people that have been through the mill and made mistakes will realize he made one too & forgive him more than ones that didn't have many problems in their life to deal with. They still may but not as easily.

What he's saying SG,is that people who have had horrible things happen to them have the right to do horrid things in return. That's NOT how life works.Sorry, but for me,he's been sticking his foot in his mouth since he arrived on the show. It's not the first time he's made reference to the fans like that.Nor is it the first time he's excused Quinn's crappy behaviour.

Where did he say that people who have horrible thing happen to them have a right to do horrible things? I didn't get that impression out of the interview posted.

Again, wow, I don't read it at all that way. He admits Quinn made mistakes & wants a second chance and he realizes people with similar backgrounds will be quicker to forgive than others...

Sorry but if a guy/girl wants a second chance to make things right or whatever it is he's wanting to do,then blackmail is NOT the first thing he should be doing to get what he wants.I mean seriously?

When kids are growing up they are molded into the people that they live around and with. It is not always the case, but if you have a dad who beats a wife, then 9 chances out of 10 their children, growing up and seeing that stuff every day, when they grow older, they will be that type of person too. It doesn't effect everyone that way but it happens more often then not. Kids grow up thinking that kind of thing is normal, when it is not. IMO children are formed by their parents. Yes, they are their own person, don't get me wrong, but ultimately, they are their parents. Things they see every single day, to them, is normal, so when they are older, they act/behave the same way.
Again, this doesn't give them the right to be like that, and it is not saying it is right to be like that either.

So fans who are "more in touch with humanity" means they've had horrible things happen or have made bad choices? Because I'm not forgiving of his character I'm not understanding of what humans are like? Sorry, that's just pompous. I understand what he's trying to say, but he's alienating fans while doing it.
Now, when Quinn shows up on screen and we see/hear him, then I will make my judgments about Quinn. I have nothing to go on but some minor spoilers here that can play out differently than what they sound like. I will reserve judgment but I'm not going to instantly forgive him.

So controversial, I love it. I didn't take it that way at all... I think given the right story line and if they NEVER mention the whole prostitution thing, and really make him redeemable, he might be okay. I liked him when he wasn't with Chloe. Take out the Chloe element, and I think he had potential.
So, I'll also reserve judgment.
I wonder if they're going to pair Billie with him in the near future?

They could pair Billie with him. I liked him in the scenes with Carly and Vivian.
