Great summary and analysis heroicmuse . I love Frank and his no-nonsense approach that is filled with heart and the best of intentions. He had two of my favorite lines. When the mayor said he wants people to feel safe in New York, Frank said he wants the people to be safe. And when Eddie said something about hate crimes, Frank rightly said all crimes are hate crimes. There's no such thing as a love crime.

Kpatch I loved both of those lines too. I also liked Sean: How do we stop all the hate? Frank: Like we do. Talking to each other and listening. Danny: Actually, I think you do most of the talking and we do the listening.

I felt the same way heroicmuse. There was no good reason for Edie to keep a secret and it led to Jamie being suspicious. I admit I did not understand some of the innuendo in the conversation between Frank and the mayor. They used too many metaphors.

Thanks heroicmuse. Great analysis! I too found the murder "mystery" predictable. I found irony in the fact that Frank was contemplating a job with the NFL, which I presume was the security director for all NFL operations. Bridget Moynihan (Erin) has a child with Tom Brady. I think the show would go on and maybe even get new life if Frank had a different job. The family is still in law enforcement. And who's Lenny? I know he's been on before. Is he a former partner of Frank's? Isn't Erin's boss the current DA? I found it not believable that Jamie or Eddie wouldn't have mentioned Sean's ride-along to Danny beforehand. Of course, that would have mitigated the drama.

heroicmuse, did you do your summary? The episode left me a little cold. I admit I was multitasking, trying to get my new computer set up. Baker's story felt contrived and the violence was gratuitous. Blue Bloods never used to be this graphically violent until recently. What did you think?

Oops I meant to post this yesterday, but it was after midnight when I finished my write-up! I enjoyed the episode but I felt like it could have gone into more depth in some of the stories. And I was surprised that Frank approved of the practice of sending cops who were breaking the law to a bar instead of holding them accountable. That seemed out of character for him. As for Baker's husband, I don't know why nobody brought up the possibility that brain damage after the shooting a few years ago was affecting his personality. www.tvfanatic.com/2021/10/blue-bloods-season-12-episode-4-review-true-blue/

Disappointed that Blue Bloods is a repeat.

Disappointed that Blue Bloods is a repeat. Me too. It felt weird not to have a new episode to watch tonight. I think a lot of shows are on hiatus this week because of the World Series.

The end bothered me. I know that we've gone overboard with every minute of our lives being made public, but covering for cops that break the law, especially multiple offender drunk drivers is just plain wrong. I don't care that by some stroke of luck no one got hurt this time. Someone will. And the cage fighting in the back room...how is that okay and how has no one ever gotten seriously injured or killed doing it?
As for Abigail's husband, I had the same thoughts. If his behavior has changed since his shooting, maybe someone should have him get a full neurological exam.
While I didn't dislike the episode, I did find it frustrating.
