I always understood that Philip's goal in taking Parker wasn't to punish but rather to help in a "tough love"sort of way.I'm glad that's what his motivation was,but that he recognizes it didn't come off that way.I also love that he's making it clear he's there for her now and wants nothing more than to protect her and be there for her.

I am so glad that Philip is taking care of Chloe. He can see that she's suffered more than enough for her choices. I loved the last line where she finally felt safe in Philip's arms. Terrific chapter Kpatch. I really enjoyed the song too. Thanks Kpatch.

THE CONDO
Philip and Chloe stood in the living room holding each other. Philip composed himself and looked at Chloe. He lifted her chin so she looked at him. He smiled at her.
Philip: I just had a funny thought.
Chloe: At a time like this?
Philip: I was just thinking about the day we graduated from high school. Do you remember what I said to you?
Chloe: Philip, you probably said a million things to me. You never shut up.
Philip laughed and his smile was infectious, making Chloe laugh too.
Philip: That’s true. But I was thinking about the time I told you that I believed we had a future together. Remember?
Chloe: Yes.
Philip: And I was right. I mean, this isn’t exactly the future I envisioned, but ... we share a son. His expression turned serious. You know how we kept saying we made a mistake ... by cheating on our spouses?
Chloe: I don’t really want to talk about that.
Philip: Look at Parker. Look at our son. If that was a mistake, it’s the best one I ever made.
Chloe looked at Parker in his playpen, then she looked back at Philip and she couldn’t help but smile.
Chloe: I like that. You’re right. How could such an angelic little boy possibly be a mistake?
Philip: It couldn’t.
Chloe: Thank you, Philip.
Philip: For what?
Chloe: Well, for making me smile. But also, for not telling the social worker about ... my past.
Philip: Your past is irrelevant. None of that has anything to do with the kind of mother you are to Parker.
Chloe: You think I’m a good mother?
Philip: Yes, I do. But more importantly, Parker thinks so.
Chloe: What do you mean?
Philip: Well, I did my best to raise him alone the past few months. And he seemed happy enough. But since you’ve moved here, he’s a completely different little boy. He’s happier and more animated than ever.
Chloe: I didn’t know that.
Philip: Hell, he lights up when he sees you. It’s obvious that you have a positive affect on him.
Chloe: Thank you for telling me that.
Philip: He needs his mother, Chloe. He needs you.
Chloe: He needs both of us.
Philip: Listen, why don’t you unpack and I’ll make the three of us some breakfast.
