I am not surprised that Chloe would think Philip wants her to leave. She has such bad feelings about herself that she must think Philip will never want her to see Parker again. I hope that she and Philip will have a conversation before she tries to walk out the door. I can't wait to see what happens during the CFS workers visit.
Thanks for the chapter and the preview Kpatch.

THE CONDO
Philip: Can I help you? Woman: I’m Tonya Boyd from the Department of Family Services. I’m here to see how things are going. May I come in? Philip: I wasn’t expecting anyone from Child Services. Miss Boyd: This is one of our unannounced visits. Here’s my credentials. Philip looks at the woman’s I.D. and lets her into the apartment. Miss Boyd: I understand Parker’s mother is staying here. Philip: Who told you that? Miss Boyd: Mrs. Dimera, Parker’s grandmother. Philip: Ah, Kate. Of course. She always has Parker’s best interests at heart.
Chloe emerged from her bedroom with her suitcase and saw Philip talking to a woman. Miss Boyd: You must be Chloe Lane. Chloe: That’s right. Who are you? Miss Boyd: I’m Parker’s caseworker from CFS. Chloe looked over at Philip. She didn’t think he would call them so quickly. Philip read her thoughts. Philip: Miss Boyd is here on a surprise visit. Chloe: You mean you didn’t call her? Philip: No. Why would I? Chloe: I thought ... Philip: Miss Boyd, would you like a cup of coffee? Miss Boyd: No, but I do have some questions for both of you. First off, what is that suitcase for? Is someone going somewhere? Chloe: Well I ... Philip: I just got back from a business trip and Chloe was helping me unpack. Chloe looked at Philip with disbelief. She thought for sure he would give her up, tell CFS what she had done, what she had become, that she was unfit to be in the same room as Parker. Miss Boyd: So are you saying that Miss Lane was alone with Parker while you were away? That’s against the rules, you know. Philip: I didn’t realize that. I’m sorry. Luckily, everything went great while I was gone. Philip handed Parker to Chloe as he was speaking to Miss Boyd. Chloe smiled at her little boy and gave him a kiss. Parker put his arms around her. Parker: Mama. Chloe smiled the biggest smile and looked at the social worker. She then looked at Philip who was smiling back at her.
Miss Boyd asked Philip and Chloe a series of questions, most of which Philip answered. Finally she got up to leave. Miss Boyd: Thank you for your time. I’ll be filing my report this week, but it seems like you have everything under control. Good bye.

Had a nasty feeling Kate was behind that....glad Philip covered for Chloe and let the woman know everything was fine. It's still so sad that Chloe is so distrustful of Philip.

Ya Hooo. What a why to go Philip. So glad that Philip handled the CFS. ( I am not a fan of DYP dept of youth protection here after seeing where they leave the child sometimes) I think in this case CFS did not really need to be involved any more. The case was settles and Philip was given Parker. Thanks for the chapter Kpatch. Looking forward to tomorrow's chapter. will try and get a computer at work.

Great chapter Kpatch. I'm glad that Philip took care of everything with the CFS worker. I am looking forward to hearing the conversation between them after Ms. Boyd is gone. I liked Philip's commment about Kate.

Thanks for the preview Kpatch. I wonder if Ms Boyd had a premonition about their future before she left.

THE CONDO
After Ms. Boyd left, Chloe put Parker in his playpen and stroked his little head.
Philip: I hope you’re not really planning to leave. Chloe: I thought for sure you would cut me out of Parker’s life. Philip: I wouldn’t do that to you. Chloe: But you did. You did do that. Philip: That was never my intention but ... you’re right. I did do that. But it wasn’t because I wanted to punish you. Chloe: It sure felt like a punishment. Philip: Chloe, ever since I found out I’m Parker’s father, he’s become my number one priority. My most important job is to protect him. I guess I lost sight of the fact that you needed protecting too. Chloe: Especially from your mother. And your other mother. Philip: My other mother? Chloe: Vivian’s sidekick is the one who beat me within an inch of my life. Philip: Gus? Oh god. I don’t know how much more of this I can handle. But ... Chloe, I never meant for anything like this to happen to you. I hoped ... I thought that by taking Parker away, it would help you get your life together, you know ... give you a goal. I meant it to be tough love. But ... I never ... Philip’s voice caught in his throat ... I never meant it to be this ... this tough.
Tears welled up in Chloe’s eyes. She tried to say something but she was too choked up to speak. Philip: I'm going to be here for you ... from now on. Philip put his arms around Chloe and she felt safe for the first time in ages.
To be continued ...
