I get that Philip is employed by his father but his son is his son and if victor wants to see him he should ask not demand
I'm glad he told him he was welcome to visit at the daycare
I'd be looking for a different place to work
Philip has had enough on his plate with the kidnapping and the crap Chloe added he doesn't need victor to dehumanize him like this

And so it begins. I'm curious as to why Victor is in the office so suddenly.

I'm glad that Maggie is with him. I'm hoping that she can be the head of reason in all of this. Philip knows how his father is. And I know its' easier said than done, but Victor's shenanigans should not surprise or anger Philip at this point. I don't see Victor changing his ways any time soon.

Victor’s visit begins to get to Philip, and he bites Chloe’s head off.

Victor calls Philip for a meeting and it does not go well. Victor is not pleased with Titan Media’s business results, putting Philip on the defensive.

Chapter 4

All morning, Victor had been keeping the administrative assistants hopping. He’d send them to get reports from Philip instead of asking Philip directly. Philip emailed him every report he asked for. He even walked one or two over to Conference Room A, where Victor was ensconced. When Philip asked Victor when he wanted to meet, Victor only responded with “Not now.”

Little by little, Philip was growing more and more uneasy. It seemed like that was Victor’s goal, to throw Philip off and make him uncomfortable. Well, his tactics were beginning to succeed.

Chloe came upstairs and Philip saw that she was about to enter Conference Room A. He caught her attention and motioned her over. Once she got close enough, he gripped her arm and pulled her into his office, closing the door.

“What are you doing?” he asked in an accusatory tone.

She raised her brows. “I was just going to say hello to Victor. Fake a little friendliness and get it over with. Why?”

“Well don’t,” he ordered. Philip walked back to his desk and tapped some keys on his laptop.

“Why not?”

“Because,” Philip said harshly, “he’s liable to bite your head off.”

“The way you’re doing right now?”

Philip looked up from his computer. He covered his eyes with one hand. “See what he does to me?” He walked over to Chloe and put his arms around her. “I’m sorry sweetheart. Victor is driving me insane.”

“Clearly,” she said sympathetically. She leaned away to look at him. “What’s going on?”

Philip rubbed Chloe’s arms and then walked toward the window. “He’s barking orders at me, demanding profit and loss statements, operating budgets, quarterly projections.”

“Why? Doesn’t he have access to all that without running you around in circles.”

He turned around to face her. “That’s just it, Chloe. I still don’t know what he’s doing here. His Majesty isn’t ready for me yet.”

“Weird.”

“Oh, and get this,” he said, walking back to his desk and mindlessly picking up a pen. “He and Maggie got here last night—”

“Maggie’s in town?” Chloe interrupted. “I’d love to see her.”

“Victor made it very clear he had no interest in having dinner with us.”

“Well that’s odd too. You’d think he’d at least want to spend time with Parker.”

Philip’s stomach turned when he remembered Victor saying on the phone that this wasn’t going to be a social call. He nodded slowly. “I think he went down to daycare to see Parker, but we’ll probably have to get that intel from Parker.”

There was a knock on the door and Tracy entered. “Oh, sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt. I thought you were alone. Hi Chloe.”

“It’s fine, Tracy,” Philip said. “What’s up?”

“You. Your father says he’s ready for you now.”

Philip took a deep breath and tossed his pen onto the desk. He looked at Chloe and cocked his head. “I guess this is it. His Majesty awaits.”

"HIs Majesty"....totally how he's acting. Sheesh.

This doesn't make sense. All of those reports are things Victor should have on hand in Salem. No real reason to come to Chicago to access them and I suspect that he's looked them all over before arriving. So, why is he really here? Did he just come to yell at Philip? Could he not do that over the phone, or summon him back to Salem?

Philip should let Chloe try to be friendly with Victor. He'd probably let slip what he's really up to while ranting at her. LOL

I'm glad Chloe didn't fly off the handle and stopped Philip from taking Victor's nonsense out on her.

Well, this'll be interesting. I'm sure any attempt at friendliness, fake or otherwise, will be met with Victor's usual response to Chloe.

Poor Philip.. having to deal with Sir Grumpy as his father. I really hope everything isn't as dire as it sounds like it may be.
