Chapter 1
Philip padded out to the front door in bare feet wearing only his pajama bottoms. He opened the apartment door and picked up the Wall Street Journal. Then he went into the kitchen and set the newspaper on the table.
“You okay, honey?” Chloe asked.
Philip was a bit dazed after his call to his father. Victor was coming to Chicago. Never a good thing in Philip’s book, and especially unsettling since he said it was business, not pleasure—not that it’s ever really a pleasure to have to deal with Victor. He looked at Chloe standing at the sink filling a coffee pot with water, then at Parker at the kitchen table eating cereal. He shook it off and gave Chloe his best smile. “Couldn’t be better. I’ve got my family back.”
He stepped behind Chloe, pinning her to the counter and kissed the back of her neck. When she giggled, he whispered, “You made my night last night.”
She tilted her head back and reached for the back of his neck. “I needed you. I needed to love you more than I needed to be angry at you.” She turned her head slightly to look at Parker. “Anger is such a waste of time when you already have everything you ever wanted.”
“Daddy, can we go to Bouncerama today?”
Philip squeezed Chloe’s shoulders before stepping away from her. He grabbed a bowl and poured himself some cereal before taking a seat at the table next to Parker. “We can do anything you want, big guy, but it’ll have to be a little later in the day. I need to go into the office this morning.”
“What?” Chloe was stunned. “Since when?”
He scratched his temple. “Um. I got a message about a meeting on Monday and there’s a few things I need to do to prepare for it.”
“Oh.” She looked disappointed.
“It won’t take all day. Two, three hours tops. Why?”
“I got a message—well, closer to a hundred messages from the wedding planner at Crystal Gardens and things have been too up in the air for the past week for me to even think about returning the calls, but I really do need to call her back. There are some details she wants us to decide. Color scheme. Flowers. Music.” She paused for a moment. “You know, Philip, you still need to decide on your best man and groomsmen. They need time to get fitted for their suits.”
“I know. I have a couple ideas in mind.”
“Well, don’t take too much longer. Anyway, I was hoping we could meet with her together.”
Philip's mind wandered to his father. “Meet who?” he asked.
“The wedding planner,” Chloe answered with a giggle. “Haven’t you heard a word I’ve been saying?”
His brow knit as he looked into his cereal bowl. “Oh right. Sorry. I haven't had my coffee. What time?”
She glanced at the coffee pot. “Coffee's ready. As for what time, I don’t know. I have to call her and see when she’s available.”
Philip got up and poured himself a cup of coffee. He held up the pot. When Chloe nodded, he poured her a cup too. “Well how about you text me when you nail down a time and I’ll meet you and Parker there.”
“What about Bouncerama?” Parker asked.
Philip set his cup on the kitchen table and ruffled Parker’s hair. “We’ll go to Bouncerama after the three of us meet with the wedding lady. But that means you have to be a good boy while we’re at Crystal Gardens, okay?”
“Yeah!” Parker said enthusiastically.
Philip looked up at Chloe. “Okay?”
“Sounds like a plan,” she said with a smile.

So--we're off to a promising start, at least! Still a little worried about the whole Victor visiting thing...

Why wouldn't he just tell her victor is coming to the office? It's something small so why keep it a secret She works there she will find out anyways Maybe if she knew now she wouldn't pressure him on the wedding stuff right this second

The fact that Philip is already keeping a secret from Chloe is not a good sign. This is more sweeping stuff under the rug and not communicating that is going to blow up in his face sooner or later.

Well, this is a good start. I do wish Philip would have told Chloe about Victor coming, though. Interested in how this plays out.

I don't like that they are pushing forward so quickly with the wedding after everything that just happened. One or two nights of sex does not erase all of the problems, decisions and knee jerk reactions they have made.
I understand that Victor is a pain in the arse to deal with, but keeping the fact that he will be in town from Chloe is not a good thing. I'm sure that Victor is going to want to see Parker.

It's great to see a happy family scene. I hope Philip warns Chloe about Victor's visit. It won't be a good surprise.

Chapter 2
That night in bed, Philip rolled onto his side toward Chloe and propped his ear on his palm as he brought Chloe’s fingers to his lips. “I can hardly remember the last time we made love in our own bed.”
“It’s been an eternity,” she said, stroking Philip’s cheek. “Since before the cruise.”
“Well, I’m glad we rectified that,” he told her with a sexy smile.
“Are you okay with the choices we made for the wedding this afternoon, honey?” she asked.
“Yeah, I told you I was. Why?”
“Well you seemed a little surprised when I picked gray and gold as our wedding colors,” she said.
He shrugged. “To be honest, it did seem like an odd color combo, for a wedding anyway. It’s the U.S. Marine’s colors.”
“I know. That’s why I picked it,” she said.
Philip leaned away. “Seriously?”
She rolled on her side to face him. “Well that, and I look fabulous in gold,” she joked. “And you’ll look amazing in a gray tux with a white tie,” she said, touching his bare chest. She looked into his eyes. “I wanted to do something to honor you. Something subtle, yet obvious.” She laughed a little at her inadvertent joke.
“I’m speechless,” he said, licking his lips. “I think that’s perfect. Just like you.” He leaned closer and kissed her lips. When the kiss broke, he hesitated. “Um. Chloe, I need to tell you something.”
She raised her brows. “Uh oh. What?”
“Victor is coming.”
“To the wedding?”
“No. I mean yes, they RSVP’d in the affirmative, but I’m talking about now. He’s coming Monday.”
“Monday??” She sat up quickly. “Crap! Why?”
“He says it’s business.”
Knitting her brow, she said, “Well, tell him not to come.”

Well I'm glad he told her He could have done it earlier though I find these two associate communication with sex They need to learn to separate that

That's precious. "Tell him not to come"? Chloe, have you MET Victor Kiriakis? That's not gonna fly...
I think it might actually have been good to wait a little before telling Chloe about the visit--she was able to think about the wedding arrangements without a Victor visit hanging over her head.

I'm glad Philip told Chloe the truth. But telling Victor not to come isn't gonna happen. Can we please have previews, Kpatch?
