I'm not sure how reliable this is but I thought I'd post it anyway, especially as many of us will be happy with this news.
After the Emmy nomination list came out today, the mother of James Lastovic (Joey) tweeted that she didn't understand why DAYS has elected not to renew her son's contract considering he has been nominated.
As a side note, I don't think it was very professional of her to make this comment nor will it be helpful to his future career.
(It looks like she may have deleted her tweet. It said something like, "This is why it is beyond me why the writers didn't renew him.")

I agree that his Mom shouldn't be posting that info publicly.
I wonder if they will recast or maybe send Joey to an out of town college.

How on earth did that kid get an Emmy nomination? Was is for best scenery? He's a horrible actor and I hope he is gone. He had plenty of time to get better. His mom should be grateful he wasn't let go sooner.

In all honesty, JL SUCKS! His momma better be glad that he got the opportunity that he did. His acting and reputation is in no way good enough to compensate for her social media rants.

Didn't Chandler Massey win this Emmy a few years ago? Now that's someone who deserved it. What a huge difference is talent and performance.

Yes, I believe Chandler won it 3 years in a row and Freddie Smith won in 2015.

While I do feel his mother showed a lack of discretion in posting that... He is my LEAST favorite actor/actress on the ENTIRE show. His delivery is consistently unenergetic and monotone. If the rumor is true, I have no complaints. I would go on but wendylou's Best Scenery joke totally slayed, LOL.

His mother's comments show very poor judgement on her part. Actors are let go all the time, it's part of the business. If you want to work in the industry, you have to accept how it operates. She should have kept her personal feelings to herself, and not unleash them on social media. Her tweet will most likely "follow" her son, as he auditions for other roles; there are always other actors - talented actors - looking for work, ones not carrying the baggage of being "entitled" around with them.

Glad to see the actor playing Joey is going. I wasn't impressed with his acting. Now Tripp is another story. Could get interesting. Now if only the actress playing Ciara could leave.

It's beyond me that the actress who plays Ciara even got the role. It's such a pivotal character that needs a really good actor. Maybe she'll be kidnapped and return with another actor playing her part.

I saw a video that Jason 47 posted on Facebook the other of an actress auditioning for a role. The description of the role sounded just like Ciara and the actress could really pass as Kristian Alfonso's daughter. Unfortunately the video was taken down, but this actress seemed like she really could act!

Unfortunately the video was taken down, but this actress seemed like she really could act! I saw it too. I have no doubt the audition was for Ciara. Her lines were something about liking to ride a motorcycle in memory of her late father and she also mentioned that her mom has had a hard time because both her father and one of her brothers are now dead. |
