I thought the scenes on Thursday were a mixture of heartbreak and "it's about time." I mean they have been leading up to this for some time and it really seemed like there was only one way for this to go. Everything that Melanie said about the reasons they could never be together rang true.
And Philip was true to form with his idealism, desperation, and never say die attitude. It was very sad. Very sad. Despite the fact that there was a time I really really enjoyed them together, I was ready for it to be over for them.
What did you all think?

Totally agree... The affair was forgiven but it's Parker that will always be there. Time for Philip to be a real Daddy now!!! Looks like maybe Melanie has finally grown up also.

I agreed with everything Melanie said. And I was happy she said it. I did, however, feel like Philip just gave up at the end. He just left her there? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) Lame.

I think he just didn't know what to say... he had already pledged his love. Besides, I don't think he has given up yet.

I thought the scenes went over really well. I was annoyed he left her there alone in the pub when she was crying like that, and I was upset he didn't show a bit more emotion, like maybe at least ONE tear for losing the baby? LOL

I just have to add though, when Philip went to see Parker and picked him up, that baby was grinning from ear to ear especially at Jen and she just had to smile back. Could that baby get any cuter? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png)

Over all everything was well done. But I hated that he showed almost a total lack at losing the baby.We had Mel a sobbing mess, which was perfect, but less than 10 seconds of Philip's reactions, and then her crying at the pub like that?I was annoyed he didn't stay and put up more of a fight.

Melanie told Philip to leave the pub and go be a father to Parker. He was following her orders. I think he wanted to show her that he will do whatever she wants him to do.

JaysDelina, that is what I meant about him shedding at least a single tear. I didn't think they did justice to the storyline with Philip's character. They did over the whole breakup scene and between him and Chloe and his scenes with Kate, but I was not impressed how him and Melanie didn't have much of anything together with respect to her miscarriage. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

I have to agree with you there.I was pretty disappointed that Nathan was the one at her bedside when she found out the baby was gone.I get why she cried on Daniel,he's her dad,but I really would have liked a scene where she cried WITH Philip if not necessarily ON Philip,if that makes sense.Overall though,I still can't complain,Molly and Jay have pulled off some great performances since the big reveal.

ITA 100% They have pulled off some GREAT scenes together since the big reveal. Did you see the flashback from yesterday's episode>? It was so strange to see JKJ with his long hair again. I hated Melanie sweater too, Made me think of Charlie Brown. However, I thought that was a nice little clip. Philip was taling about Tyler and Parker and being a good dad.
I am so sad to see him leave.

I get that it was her anger and hurt talking everytime she put down Philip as a father, but I hated it,especially after they had that conversation about Tyler and she said that she understood why he gave up the little guy.Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I really hope they have Philip thinking about happier times with Mel,just as they had Philip thinking about the Last Blast Dance when he gave Chloe that song she'd written for Joy.I think it would be a nice Phelanie (Philip/Melanie)send off.Wrap it all in a neat little bow so to speak.
