'Days of Our Lives' fans need to buckle their seat belts and get ready for an interesting ride this summer. The material from the new head writing team will begin to air sometime in July but not before a murder mystery begins from the former head writing team in June. The murder story is expected to run through the summer and into September. So who dies? Rumor has it that Deimos Kiriakis [Vincent Irizarry] could be the murder victim. And, given that the actor is set to exit the show around the same time, this could be true. Also on the horizon is the return of Paul Telfer as Xander Kiriakis for a May sweeps storyline. Could Xander return to exact revenge on uncle Deimos? link |

Since it starts in June and the new writing team starts in July, I guess the new writing team was stuck with this story when they came in. Hopefully this won't be the first of 4,000 murders and attempted murders in Salem between summer and next Christmas. If there is ONE murder and an interesting whodunit mixed in with other stories more to my liking I guess I can live with it...

Tho I'm glad it's not a killin spree I personally could live without the violence
If it's Xander the smarter thing would be not to bring him back and no more killing
If at Deimos just get him caught and sent to jail preferably in Greece so we don't have to watch a prison story
I am really disappointed

Did you read somewhere who the killer is? I don't see that in the story.
I don't understand why Xander would want to kill Deimos. Deimos is the one who let him go.

Thanks sportsgirl & heroicmuse! I just can't put too much faith into what Corday says. He has lied about so much before and the direction of the show. And him saying that HE is listening? Come on! We've all heard that one before. I do hope that the new writing team can bring back the qualities of the show that first attracted me to Days, but I"m not going to hold my breath on it. I agree that Hope and Rafe are not a rootable couple. I really don't care about seeing Chloe on my screen more. And I sure don't want them to force a Nicole/Brady pairing just because of Daniel's heart....but I'm afraid that's what is going to happen. |

I don't like Hope and Rafe either and I know few fans that do. Ever since they announced the new writing team, the new head writer has been subject to large numbers of tweets from fans asking him to please end this pairing. I'm hoping Corday is substituting his own opinion for the new writers' on this; it really doesn't make a lot of sense to keep a couple that only a small minority of fans enjoy.

To me, Ken Corday and his obliviousness is a major part of the problem for Days. He is clueless about what the fans want and his comment about Rafe and Hope is a prime example. As long as he is steering the ship it doesn't matter who is writing. Hopefully he will give this new writer more control but I'm not really confident he will. They have got to learn to give the fans more of what they want. If they don't give us characters and couples we can root for we have no reason to tune in. Added AFTER reading the article  I do like a lot of what he's saying except for the Rope part. Will he deliver? Sigh...I don't see Philip mentioned so I guess they're pairing Brady/Chloe and Eric/Nicole. Maybe they can redeem but I'm not so into Ericole right now. I'd rather explore Eric and Jen or even Eric and Chloe. |
