It's looking grim for Days's future on NBC, but CBS might acquire it with Sony Pictures. If they did, this is what I think could save them: 1) Buy out Corday. 2) Hire a British producer - soaps still thrive in Britain, who can make a lot out of a little. They did this with Y&R. 3) Have CBS air a half hour version of Days with B&B & Y&R. 4) Have a full hour on their streaming service, with a half an hour focusing on younger characters including the gay story. A little more swearing & sex, but not too much. 5) Produce audio plays featuring the old cast as younger versions of themselves in new adventures. The BBC does this with Doctor Who. 6) I would reboot it from before Higley & Griffith took over. Lure back Alison, James, a Will, get Paige back and Aiden back and especially Peter Reckell. Let Lauren Boles be Ciara. I had forgotten DooL is facing Pumpkin Hour again. Let's hope for the best! It's been reported that CBS is in negotiations with Sony Pictures to buy out Sony Pictures Television, which owns Days along with Corday. So, Days would likely not stay at NBC if that happened. Also, even though they are saying Megyn Kelly's show won't replace Days but an hour of the today show, until NBC confirms that it's in a precarious position.

Ugh. I don't need another reason to dislike Megyn Kelly.
We've been through lots of ups and downs with the show and every 18 months we think it might be the end, but it's not. So I'm not even gonna worry about it this time.

So I'm not even gonna worry about it this time. The rise of streaming as a real phenomena has made me quite hopeful for the show's survival whereas a few years ago I pretty much figured it would be done sooner or later.
