I just found this really interesting tweet from new headwriter Marlene McPherson. twitter.com/#!/MarleneMcP/status/109459728937123842 MarleneMcP: Having a wonderful dinner with a mysterious dashing stranger who will be arriving in Salem in February I wonder who the stranger is going to be coming into Salem for February sweeps. Is it going to be a new character or a returning character? Any guesses. |

If the rumors about Nadia returning to Days end up being true then I honestly could see Philip (whether it be a recast or JKJ) coming back during February sweeps especially if Victor and Maggie end up getting married in February. Otherwise I think there is a good chance that Lucas may be back for awhile for Will's coming out storyline. There is also a good chance if Daniel ends up leaving the show after Jack and Jen reconcile that it could end up being a Horton doctor like either Bill or Mike since the show will need a new doctor to replace Daniel. One last possibility is that Eric Brady could end up coming back so that Sami can have her twin brother in town and he could interfere in EJ's and Nicole's relationship now that Brady will be moving on with the new Madison character.
I just hope it is not going to end up being Mark Hapka coming back as Nathan for Maggie and Victor's wedding and to be a love interest for Melanie since I have had more than my fair share of Nathan's pathetic whining to last a lifetime and never want to see Nathan ever again no matter who plays him.

I really only want Jay Johnson to return as Philip. But I wouldn't mind seeing Lucas back. Or Bill, the Silver Fox.

I like every possibility you listed except for Eric and Nathan. When Nicole was supposed to be torn between EJ and Brady, Eric could have been a nice wrinkle in that storyline. But I can't see how Eric would add anything to the Brady/Madison SL. And Nathan?  Yuck. No thanks. I'd really like to see Lucas come back. It would make sense with who else is on screen. Philip? Maybe, but I doubt it'll be Jay. It'd have to be a super-fantastic-amazing story for him to come back (I'm guessing). Something more than just his grandfather's 3rd (4th? 5th?) wedding. Bill? Yummy. Yes, please! |

No Nathan. Please lord no Nathan. It kind of scares me though because if you look at pictures on Twitter he is still hanging out with the cast. Scary.

I wonder if "stranger" really means stranger...as in he is a stranger to Salem, or a stranger to Marlene, or if that was just a turn of a phrase.

He's gonna be one of those that come back and lurk in the shadows for a few weeks. Be a stranger to us. That was my thinking. People don't tend to get too overly excited about new characters coming to Salem....
