So is anyone as disappointed as I am with the new cast?? Here is a list in case you missed it:
Ron Artest- basketball player
Rob Kardashian- didn't even know he existed. That is how much I care about these media whores.
Ricki Lake- At least I know who she is
Nancy Grace- Never watched her show but I know who she is.
Kristin Cavalarri- Reality junkie. She got dumped so now she is forcing us to suffer with her....
J.R. Martinez- I have no idea who he is but he apparently is a war veteran who was badly burned and is now a soap star (All My Children)
Hope Solo- Soccer player
Elisabetta Canalis- They tried to hype her up in their write up but basically the only thing Americans know her for is dating George Clooney.
Carson Kressley- Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
Chaz Bono- Sonny and Cher's daughter turned son.
Chynna Phillips- of Wilson Phillips
David Arquette- The only one I would actually consider a "star" and he has kind of fallen of the face of the earth.

Glad I am not alone. I have said in past seasons that I wouldn't watch, but then I always get sucked in. Not sure if that will happen this time or not...

I thought it was a good cast. I know most all of them for the first season ever! Lol.
I love the kardashian shows. I love trashy tv. Plus they r all kind Funny. Their family life reminds me
Of mine except they have 3 more kids then I do so it's often even more hectic.
Ron Artest the basketball player is changing his name to Metta World Peace. Lol interesting.
David arquette? He's always funny!
Elisabetta canalis is so beautiful! But you're totally right Mrsm!! The only thing ppl know her for is dating George.
Nancy Grace? I think she will be interesting to see in that kind of light. Shes an interesting woman.
Chaz Bono? That'll be fun!
Kristin cavalarri? Meh. I used to watch her on laguna beach but that got old fast.
I've seen this war vet guy on tv before. Had no idea he was on AMC. His truck hit a land mine in Iraq.
Rick lake? I used to love watching her talk show when I was home sick from school. Lol loved Jenny jones too. Anywho I also loved Ricki as Pepper in crybaby.
I used to love Wilson Phillips!! Hold
On was on the very first CD I ever owned lol
Don't get me wrong I'm not super excited about the cast all in all, but IMO it's much better then other seasons!!

So the pairs have been revealed. I am more excited for the pros than the stars.  Hope Solo and Maks (I saw this one from a mile away) Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus (haven't seen him before) Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke (poor guy) Ron Artest and Petra Murgatroyd (I think she is new) Ricki Lake and Derek Hough Elisabetta Canalis and Val C (Maks younger brother who is almost as hot as he is  ) Chynna Phillips and Tony Dovolani David Arquette and Kym Johnson Kristin Cavallari and Mark Ballas (I wish he would take a break) |

In my opinion, the "Star" in DWTS has always been relative. They can't get the A-list, B-list, even the C-list folks because they're too busy being actual stars (or at least occasional co-stars). So all the show is left with is D-list at best. All of these "Stars" ARE actually recognizable, and they will bring in ratings, which, let's be fair, is the real goal of the show. I, for one, am excited to see everyone's ability. I hate Hate HATE it when they cast a professional dancer (the Pussycat Doll - what'shername) and then she wins. Ugh. No fun to watch at all. I much rather prefer to see people develop over the season and discover a talent they didn't know they had. I have no idea if anyone in this cast has previous experience, so that part remains to be seen. I'm not opposed to any casting, but I simply can't stand that blow-hard Nancy Grace. I look forward to seeing Chaz and Chynna (GG - "Hold on for one more day"  ). The others? *shrugs* Eh. I wish Karina AND Mark would take some time off. Do y'all still want me to do my recap like I did last season? |

I would love the recap. Being as busy as I am, I don't always get to watch the show. I love all the effort you put into it and LOVE that you post the videos DD!
I am really, really, really excited to see Maks younger brother. I have to google him right now! LOL

DD, I love your recaps! It seems almost every season I'm disappointed by the casting, but I still watch and get pleasantly surprised by one of the celebs. That, and Annabelle loves to watch the dancing and dance along with the faster dances.
I guess I can always mute it and put my closed captioning on whenever Nancy Grace is on.
