I saw a new edition at the grocery store this morning and Days was on the cover. It said "The new plan to save Days" or something like that and it mentioned cuts etc. I almost bought it but it's $5.00!!!
Has anyone had a chance to check it out? I wonder if it's anything new that we haven't already heard about.

I get the electronic version. I didn't see anything earth shattering in the article. Ken said that he and the cast were upset by the dark turn of the show. He had to close his office door to cut down the flow of cast coming in to complain. He was concerned about the lack of romance. He felt the show started to look like "True Detective" instead of "Days of Our Lives". He was not surprised by the rating falling. He is excited by names from the past coming back. There will be cast changes but not a major loss of cast. He apologizes for failing the viewers over the last six months.

Was he in a coma while all of this was going on? The guy needs to learn how to be proactive, especially with the six month ahead shooting schedule they have.

I read another interview with him recently where he said that he doesn't watch the show until it airs. That's a big part of the problem IMO. Corday seems to have no clue what's going on with the show he supposedly produces until the actors start complaining.

Thanks kathyj. I'm glad to know they all felt like we did about the lack of romance but I agree that he should have been on it sooner. Once again the blaring problem with shooting so far ahead shine brightly.

They need to cut it down to about 3 months instead of 6. Thanks for the info kathyj.

Is Dorkay retired? It's crazy that he wouldn't know what's coming up until it airs. I don't believe that for a second. He's just not taking responsibility, and as the show's executive producer and essentially the owner, the responsibility IS his.

I think he SHOULD retire. Sell the show to someone else who has the energy and interest to pay attention to it so that there's less necessity for damage control every 12 months or so.

SOD is still a printed publication? I.....did not know that.
Hero, I have a different opinion on KC. I think he is the heart and soul of DooL. It has been a part of his family since way back when...when?
When he started growing his hair long and bad mouthing his country. Somehow he always pulls a bunny out of his derby, other shows have done better, but have been cancelled.
He always seems to get Days renewed for another year. I as well as many others here think it would be in his best interest to be taken out of anything that is considered creative.
If he insist on being apart of the creativity of the show, Pumpkin Hour will be sooner, not later.

It's not that he needs to be part of the creative process, but he sure should know about the direction of the show.
It has been waaaay too dark, both figuratively and literally, for too long.

Part of me would like KC to leave because I do think he's out of touch but another part of me agrees with Ted, that without KC, as bad as we think he is, Days would be done. He fights to keep it on and I'm not sure anyone else will. And that is kind of depressing.
Oh well, we'll just hope that the 25th time is a charm and that this reset will be the one that's actually for the better.

I think most of the cast is fine. I think most of the problem has been the writing. There should be a balance of stories. Where's the light-hearted story? We need to see more of characters having fun. Everyone shouldn't be suffering at the same time.
