I got to watch a bit today. Watched the volleyball of USA vs. China. Got to see more of the swimming. Good stuff. And now, time for my nightly update on my five favorite teams.
USA has five gold medals (four in swimming, one in shooting), seven silver medals (four in swimming, one in archery, one in fencing, one in diving) and seven bronze medals (six in swimming, one in shooting).
Australia has four gold medals (two in swimming, one in rugby sevens, one in shooting) and three bronze medals (one in swimming, one in diving, one in archery).
Great Britain has one gold medal (swimming), one silver medal (swimming) and two bronze medals (one in diving, one in shooting).
New Zealand has two silver medals (one in shooting, one in rugby sevens).
Ireland still has nothing.

Looking forward to watching some swimming tonight after the whole #Phelpsface things yesterday.
I'm also hoping to get to watch women's gymnastics. It's frustrating trying to figure out when to watch. They keep switching back and forth between things, like they're trying to force you to sit through stuff just to watch what you want.

wendylou - do you have cable with on-demand? Our on-demand has an Olympics section where you can watch individual events.

No fluffysmom, I don't have that fancy cable, just basic. Thanks though. Ooh. Looks like Phelps is next. BTW - they just showed Kevin Durant and some of the other basketball players cheering on the swimmers in the crowd. It's nice to see them there cheering on some of the smaller sports.

They keep switching back and forth between things, like they're trying to force you to sit through stuff just to watch what you want. I find this really annoying too wendylou. Not everyone has the time or desire to watch for three or four hours to see the outcome of an event like gymnastics.

It's very cool that Fiji won their first ever Olympic gold medal a few days ago. They won it in rugby.
