Who's watching?
Do you have favorite events? Teams? Athletes?

I'm watching on and off.
My favorite events are swimming, synchronized swimming, diving, shooting, archery, and I kinda like the golf.
If I had to pick my top 5 teams (because there are a lot of countries) they are: USA, Great Britain, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. I don't really know the names of who's on what team, but I intend to find out, so I'll update it then.

I didn't watch at all in 2012 and I probably won't watch this year, either. The events I like are gymnastics, diving, and swimming.

I never want to watch b/c there's so much hype it irritates me, like I feel like you just HAVE to watch, but yeah, I end up watching a bit here and there.
I'm watching men's basketball right now even though it's not a contest AT ALL. They're kicking China's arse. I hope there are some teams that at least give them a bit of a challenge.
I kind of like swimming. I saw a little bit of that this morning. Track can be fun too. I don't really know any Olympians the way I do some years. Michael Phelps. I know there's some US gymnast that's supposed to be really good but I don't know her name. I will probably watch that too. That is in Summer Olympics right?

I like swimming, gymnastics and diving. Track and field doesn't interest me. I don't like having to watch for hours on end to see the rest of an event. Luckily on-demand has the option to watch individual events.

I will watch when I can. I am especially interested in the equestrian events. Beezie Madden, a member of the equestrian team, lives near me. Her farm is decorated with American flags along the fence line during the Olympics.

So I'll be giving occasional updates on my teams when I can. So far, Australia has won two gold medals in swimming, one men's and one women's. The men's was won by Mack Horton. Not sure who the women's was. The men's team also won a bronze medal in archery.
Meanwhile, Virgina Thrasher of the USA won the gold medal for shooting! The USA men's team won silver for archery. Three silver medals in swimming! One won by Chase Kalisz, one by Maya Dirado. Not sure who the third was won by.

André DiMera - Michael Phelps won a gold medal in the relay swimming. I'm not watching for the most part. My Facebook has been blown up every time the US gets a gold medal. I am going to try to catch the women's pole vaulting. One of the girls on the USA team is from the town I live in and I'm good friends with her aunt. She's only 19 years old and her and her twin sister set many records and won several events in the state during her high school years. Very awesome to have someone from Arkansas on the Olympic team.
