DIMERA MANSION
ANDRE: You’re sure about this?
BART: Absolutely! Heard it from the horse’s mouth.
André considered this.
BART: Not a real horse, obviously. I mean, I heard it from Johnny and Meadow. They were discussing what they should do about the baby.
ANDRE: Well, they’re going to keep it, of course. The child is a DiMera. One of Stefano’s heirs. It shall be raised here.
Johnny and Meadow sat down on the edge of his bed.
JOHNNY: So, you wanted us to decide on what we should do?
MEADOW: I think we need to. Allie knows, and we’ll have to start telling other people eventually. They’ll figure it out, anyway. By the end of the month, I’ll be three months pregnant. I’ll probably start showing around Thanksgiving or Christmas.
Johnny nodded.
JOHNNY: Like I said before, whatever you want to do, I’ll support you. Whether that means keeping it, getting rid of it, or…anything else.
MEADOW: I don’t necessarily want to get rid of it. But I also don’t think I’m ready to be a mother. I want to be a mother eventually, but I don’t know if I’m ready for that. What about you?
JOHNNY: I mean, yeah, I think it’d be cool to have a kid at some point. I don’t think I’m ready for it, either, though. If you don’t want to…you know…we could always put it up for adoption. Dr. Horton said that was an option at one of your appointments, right?
MEADOW: She did.
JOHNNY: What do you think about that?
Meadow sighed.
MEADOW: I can’t deny that it would be hard. But, I think it might be what’s best. I’m not in a place where I’m ready to take care of a child, it wouldn’t be fair to the baby if we didn’t do what was best for it.
JOHNNY: Exactly.
MEADOW: Would you be okay with it if we did put the baby up for adoption?
JOHNNY: Well, like you said, it’s what’s for the best. Besides, I know a handful of lawyers. Justin, Aiden, Don. Heck, my Dad even practiced law for a while. I’m sure one of them’s got to have some experience with this kind of thing.
MEADOW: So, we’ll talk to one of them and see what we have to do to set things up.
JOHNNY: Exactly.
Meadow took Johnny’s hand.
MEADOW: I’m so glad I have you through all this.
JOHNNY: Of course you do. I’m not going anywhere.
Johnny put his arms around Meadow and kissed her forehead.
ISA SUPERJET
The team had loaded up the jet, and final checks were being made before take-off.
HAWK: So, what part of France are we going to, again?
JOHN: Well, it’s not exactly France. It’s actually a micronation just outside of Paris. It technically exists within France, but is considered its own sovereignty with its own government.
JOY: Sort of like Alamainia or Aremid, then.
JOHN: That’s a fact.
HAWK: And we’re going there because the Amethyst fell into the possession of this European princess?
JOHN: Princesses, plural. Fortunately, barring any unforeseen interference by Drew or someone working for him, this should go fairly smoothly.
HAWK: How do you figure that?
JOHN: Because I happen to know the possessors of the Amethyst very well. The eldest of the three princesses is my daughter. And the younger two, her nieces, are my granddaughters.
JOY: You never told us you were royalty!
John laughed.
JOHN: Oh, I’m far from royalty, Joy. Far from it. But, as part of my long, complicated, multiple choice past, I did have a passionate affair with a royal. One that, though unknown to me for the longest time, produced a pair of twins. I’ll tell you that story once we get going.
Steve came in from the cockpit.
STEVE: Looks like you won’t have to wait too long, partner. Pilot says we’re all set.
JOHN: Excellent.
STEVE: Buckle up, everyone. It’s off to Europe, and the Palace Von Amberg.
DIMERA MANSION
Later that night, after everyone else had gone to bed, André went into the living room. He turned on a lamp and gazed at the portrait of Stefano which hung on the wall. He smiled.
ANDRE: Oh, Stefano. If only you were here to celebrate the joyous news. A new DiMera heir is on the way. Your first great-grandchild. One day, young Giovanni’s child shall rule the DiMera Empire. I promise you, he or she will be raised to be a true DiMera. I’ll make sure of it.
