Anyone watching the Tony Awards tonight?
I am really looking forward to the musical numbers - especially "Hamilton". There is also a Days connection - Carmen Cusack is nominated for "Brightstar". Carmen is married to Paul Tefler (Xander). My niece has tickets to see "Hamilton" in October -- so jealous.

I may watch a bit. Living in Florida I don't see a lot of Broadway shows but I do love James Corden, who is hosting tonight. I'd also like to see some of the numbers from Hamilton and the other shows too.
I've only visited NYC once and we saw Wicked. It was fun and I'd love to see another show some time.

Kpatch - I haven't been to NYC in a long time. The last show I saw there was the revival of "Oklahoma". I haven't even been to our regional theatre in quite a while -- I need to get on that.
I really enjoyed the Tony's this year. James Corden was a great host. He began the show with remarks about the Orlando tragedy -- he had his back to the theatre audience and spoke to the TV audience. It gave the impression that everyone there was part of his remarks.
Angela Lansbury was one of the presenters - at 90 she is still as elegant and eloquent as always.
Former One Life to Live actress Renee Elise Goldsberry won a Tony for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Hamilton. I never watched OLTL but she played a character named Evangeline.

Was that the version of Oklahoma with Hugh Jackman? My sister and brotherinlaw see everything. She loved him in it and has a big crush on Jackman. I forgot to tune into the Tonys.

Kpatch you can probably find a lot of it on YouTube. I only watched bits and peices. I missed the very beginning but saw most of the opening song. It was cute. You might be able to find it and some of the individual performances. Oh, and I did see the Broadway carpool karaoke. It was very good. I know that one is on YouTube.

Kpatch - Hugh Jackman wasn't in the performance I saw. The only name I recognized is Andrea Martin as Aunt Eller. I think she was nominated for a Tony but didn't win.
Lin-Manuel Miranda gave a moving speech after his first win. He referenced his wife and son and those killed in Orlando.
There was a cute segment that showed a lot of Broadway actors who have appeared in "Law and Order". Some have made 4 or 5 appearances on the show. When my brother-in-law goes to a play at our regional theatre he checks the program for "Law and Order" credits.
