Anybody planning to watch tonight's race? Do you have a favorite?
We'll be watching. We always have drinks and a fun dinner on triple crown days.

We are. I love horses and I'm afraid of them at the same time. But they sure are pretty.

Congratulations Nyquist. The odds-on favorites one first place and second place. It was a good race.

So much fun watching the NBC coverage. They did good. They made it fun. Loved the flowers, the hats, the crazy suits. Especially the behind the scenes, so to speak. My favorite announcer (?) was Rutledge and his tulip suit in the infield. My only gripe is the focus on American Pharoah. I wish they would have dug back, like maybe a top five over the past 142 years? Hey, did anyone tweet #watchmeneighneigh to make Johnny Weir's My Little Pony brooch, Lawrence, light up and gallup? Were you one of the over 5,000 tweets? The horses! So much beauty. The downpour starting during the National Anthem. And then sunshine ... Wow! That spot about Mike Repole, owner of Outwork, was great. I loved the bit with him and his baby girl. He's got a really pretty horse too. Jimmy Fallon and the puppy predictor spot was hilarious! And then his pick spot with the puppy closeup. So cute!!! During the walk of the horses to the gates ... Is it bad that I noticed one of the ladies was carrying her shoes? i love Carolyn Manno's lead up to her pick. I also loved them all. For me it's either their look or name. We go so caught up we made some virtual bets. We agreed on $200 each. Then we dug down into our pockets and found another ten bucks each for a long shot. So here's how we placed our bets: ... Me: Suddenbreakingnews to win $100 = 0 My Man Sam to show $100 = 0 Danzing Candy to show $10 = 0 Hubby: Nyquist to win $100 = 330.00 Exaggerator to show $100 = 135.00 Whitmore to show $10 = 0 So we did good, right? And Hubby says Exaggerator is just as good as Nyquist but he got trapped until the third turn. He says the jockey is the reason Exaggerator got up to second and he would have won it if they ran another 1/4 mile. *shrugs* I dunno know, I just like to watch the pretty horses. Me, I'm wonderin' 'bout that big red thing on Nyquist's nose. All of the other horses have regular gear. Just sayin'.

I didn't watch that much of the pre-commentary UhSir. Sounds like I missed some good stuff. Love your virtual bets! I thought Exaggerator was going to win toward the end. I was rooting for Victor Espinoza and Whitmore. I'm also a Gary Stevens fan. The Preakness should be very interesting.
