No traditional previews this week as we will be heading into a little hiatus. But here's a preview of the beautiful Crystal Gardens at the Navy Pier along with menu items and other options. A little pricey for my budget but not for a Kiriakis. Crystal GardensCheck back for more shortly.

It's a lovely wedding venue. The menu made me hungry.

I loved the ideas you guys had about giving George's wife a name. So just for fun, let's do it!
I've created two threads where you can post your ideas and then we can take a vote:
Name George's wife
Name Lucinda's husband

Chapter 47b
Philip scrunched his face.
“What’s the matter?” Chloe asked.
“Hanging twinkle lights aren’t exactly my style.”
“You’ll get over it once you hear about the leapfrog fountains,” she teased. Chloe took the iPad back and continued reading the description. “Hanging twinkle lights and dancing leapfrog fountains, to provide a gorgeous, natural backdrop to your wedding. We also have no room rental fee—“
“Oh, I like that part,” Philip joked.
Chloe elbowed him and went on. “No room rental fee, simply a food and beverage minimum. There is room to accommodate anywhere from 20 to 500 people, making the Crystal Gardens ideal for a wedding reception of any size.”

“I think it’s gorgeous,” Chloe said. “I can actually picture us saying ‘I do’ there. Let’s make an appointment to see the reception planner in person.”
“Whatever you want, sweetheart,” he said smiling at her. “This is your day.”
“Our day,” she corrected.
“Our day, yes. But you’re in charge,” he insisted. “We’re doing this your way this time. Whatever it takes to make you happy.”
“You know something, Philip? The wedding isn’t going to make me happy.”
“Huh???”
“Like I said, marrying you and being your wife. That’s what’s going to make me happy.”
Philip nodded in appreciation of that answer. “Well then that works out perfectly, because that’s what’s gonna make me happy too.” He leaned over and gave her a quick kiss.
Chloe squinted. “But it would be nice to do something special.”
“I thought marrying me is the ‘something special,’” he quipped.
Laughing, she pushed his shoulder. “It is! Of course it is. I’m talking about the ceremony. I mean, I know there are limitations in a religious ceremony, but we’ve both been married a few times and I want to do something neither of us have ever done before.”
“Please tell me I'm not going to have to swoop in on a motorcycle or a fire engine.”
Shaking her head, she said, “Kpatch wouldn’t repeat Bo and Hope or Jack and Jennifer. They're legendary. Besides, I don't need to be rescued from the wedding I've waited my whole life for. But we need our own legend, don't you think?” Chloe’s eyes widened. “I have an idea. Wait here.” Chloe left the living room and came back a minute later holding her iPod and wearing ear buds. Philip watched and wondered. “This is perfect. Ooh, Philip. Listen.” She took one ear bud out and pressed it against Philip’s ear.
He placed his hand on top of hers and pressed the ear bud closer. “I don’t know this song,” he said flatly.
“Sure you do.”
“No. I don’t.”
“Well you will. We’re going to sing it at our wedding,” she commanded.
“Who’s we?”
“Philip! Us. You and me.”
Philip dropped the ear bud and leaned away. “I’m not singing at my own wedding.”

I hope Philip gets more interested in the wedding. I'm intrigued about the song Chloe wants them to sing.

Chapter 47c
“This is perfect. Ooh, Philip. Listen.” She took one ear bud out and pressed it against Philip’s ear.
He placed his hand on top of hers and pressed the ear bud closer. “I don’t know this song.”
“Sure you do.”
“No. I don’t.”
“Well you will. We’re going to sing it at our wedding,” she commanded.
“Who’s we?”
“Philip! Us. You and me.”
Philip dropped the ear bud and leaned away. “I’m not singing at my own wedding.”
“Why not?”
“Because. I don’t sing.”
“Yes you do.”
“In the shower, yes. Sometimes when I’m cooking, but I’m not a singer and I don’t sing in public.”
“Philip, you have a sweet voice. I love listening to you sing.”
“And I don’t mind singing to you, and I’ll serenade you every day of the week, but I will not. make. a fool. of myself. in public. Am I making myself clear enough? I mean, can you imagine the headlines? ‘Titan Media CEO embarrases himself croacking out love song.’ I do not want to see myself on World’s Most Humiliating Videos.” Chloe merely smiled at Philip the whole time he was talking. He scowled at her. “What?”
“I can’t wait for us to sing at our wedding.”
Philip got up off the couch. “Haven’t you been listening?” He raised his voice slightly. “I’m not gonna do it, Chloe. I'm not, and that's final. There are enough details to worry about at a wedding. I … I have an image to protect. People think of me as dignified and sophisticated and … and dignified.”
Chloe watched him intently. “You said that already.”
“Look, if you want to sing, go right ahead. No one’s stopping you,” he said sternly.
“Philiiip,” she cooed.
He sighed and sat down again, shaking his head from side to side. Chloe knew how to wear Philip down. He knew that she knew it was only a matter of time. He picked up the ear bud and pressed it to his ear again. His tone softened. “It’s a good choice, but … there are harmonies. I don’t do harmony,” he said decisively.
Kissing his cheek, she said, “Don’t worry, I’ll sing the harmonies.” She wrapped an arm around him and hugged him to her. “I love you so much. This is going to be the most memorable wedding ever.”

I think this is going to be one fun wedding! Good for Chloe for her powers of persuasion!

I think Philip is protesting too much. I very much doubt that him singing, whether good or bad, would be headline news. I hope this doesn't lead to more arguments later on. Thanks for the chapter, Kpatch.

I think Philip needs an anxiety coach more than a voice coach. He is really overreacting. This wedding should be fun!
