Oh my, Nancy! She isn't going to handle the reunion news very well! I think she may even have a worse reaction than Victor. Loved Craig today, lol.

I could picture the scene playing out. Nancy was written perfectly.

Chapter 3b
Chloe marched down the hall and took a breath to calm herself before opening the door to Parker’s room. She didn’t want the anxiety over her confrontation with Nancy to spill over onto her son. Dr. Richards would surely agree.
Parker was on his bed lying on his stomach holding his controller and playing a game on his X-box.
“Hi angel.”
Parker glanced at Chloe but he didn’t get off his bed to greet her.
“Don’t I get a hug?” Chloe asked.
Parker shook his head from side to side. “I see,” Chloe noted. She sat down on the edge of his bed.
“Move. I can’t see. You’re blocking the TV.”
“That’s okay,” she said, taking the controller from his hand.
“Hey. Give it back.”
“Excuse me?? ‘Hay’ is for horses, young man,” Chloe reminded him. “I’m talking to you, Parker. And when I talk to you, you pay attention to me,” she said, touching the controller to her chest, “not this stupid gadget. Do you understand?”
Parker rolled over and faced the wall.
“Okay, now you’re being rude,” Chloe sighed. “What happened to the sweet little boy you were when I left?” The truth is, she knew exactly what happened to him. His parents got divorced.
“I thought you lef’ me here with them,” he mumbled into his pillow. “I thought you weren't coming back and I be stuck with her fawever.”
Chloe stifled her laughter. “You mean your grandma?”
“Yeah.”
“It’s yes, not yeah. … Parker.” Chloe touched her son’s arm and shook his shoulder gently. “Parker, you knew I was only going away for a few days, right?”
He shrugged.
“Parker, I’m your mother. You’re my little angel. I’m not going to leave you, except for a few days now and then. You know I have to travel on business sometimes. But I will always come home to you, angel, no matter what. That's a promise. You never have to worry about that.” Chloe’s mind flashed to the harrowing plane ride to Nevada and what Philip said about flying together being a bad idea.
“Daddy wen’ away and didn’t come back,” Parker reasoned.

I love Parker's logic.

The poor guy is going to be so confused when Daddy eventually moves home!! Does Mary see kids too? She is universally beloved, I hear. ;-) I can't wait to see how Chloe handles this conversation. Tough talks seem to be Philip's thing.

Awww. Poor Parker. I agree with unavitasegreta. Parker needs to see Dr. Richards--or somebody--ASAP.

I can see Parker's logic, as he's had a bunch of really screwed up stuff happen to him in his young life. I hope that Chloe takes him to see Dr. Richards sometime soon!

Parker has had a lot happen in his young life. He needs to learn that hitting people isn't the way to deal with being upset.

Any possibility for previews or a sneak peek, Kpatch?

Does Mary see kids too? She is universally beloved, I hear. ;-) Mary Richards is a child and family psychologist. Chloe and Philip started going to her for Parker. So she's his therapist first and foremost. She is one of the top three child psychologists in Chicago. Chapter that includes Dr. Richards' credentialsBecause she is also a family practitioner, Chloe decided she would be a good choice for couples counseling, for continuity purposes. She already knows the family's history.

Any possibility for previews or a sneak peek, Kpatch? Because you asked, absolutely! Previews for the week aheadChloe tries to reason with Parker. Nancy has a proposition for Chloe. Chloe admits she made a mistake but Nancy will have none of it. So where’s Philip and what’s he thinking about all this?
