Nathan was stronger today (still obnoxious but stronger) then he's ever been.....he manned up (whether you agree with him or not) and stood up for what and who he cares about .......I always thought he was a sniveling little brat that hid behind anything available....his scene with Philip sparked....!!!! Course that selfish little stupid twit Melanie had to go and start her miscarriage right in the middle of it.....dang, she's selfish...!!!!! Stephanie was wonderful with her catty remarks and observations about all the people in her life, (and she was spot on too...) I thought she had a great attitude about it all...... Both were fairly interesting to watch....what's the deal with writing better for a departing character than you did when they were ongoing...  If you had made them as interesting before, maybe they wouldn't be departing characters..... |

Well, you can't make them interesting when the object of their obsession is a stupid twit like Melanie. Really, seriously, they had to dumb up and dull down their characters just to make her look interesting. Feh.

I loved Stephanie's line about Philip to Nathan... He's rich, charming & have you seen those dimples.... ;D

^^ I don't think Nathan was as impressed by the dimples as some of us are. Pallison, I thought at first you said that Nathan was stranger than usual and I reread and realized you said stronger than usual. Your post is like a mini-Crazy Days.  What I didn't like is how he is treating Melanie like a possession. "She's staying with me. She's coming home with me." When did Melanie EVER agree to that? Of course Philip wasn't much better with his "that's MY wife" attitude. |

Too bad he didn't show this backbone earlier. Lost opportunity to have more Hortons around. *sigh*
As for Stephanie, I thought her comment about Philip's dimples was more about the actress's (I'm blanking on her name at the moment) feelings about Jay, since they're together. But I thought it was cute anyway.

As for Stephanie, I thought her comment about Philip's dimples was more about the actress's (I'm blanking on her name at the moment) feelings about Jay, since they're together. But I thought it was cute anyway. DD, are Shelley Hennig and Jay Johnson a couple? And if so, is this verifiable? I remember that there was a rumor a while back, even before they were a couple on screen, that they were a couple in real life. Then I heard they broke up, then they both announce they are leaving at the same time. Seems like they have been pretty discreet about the relationship. Either way, they would make a gorgeous couple. |

Shelly!!!! Thank you! I knew I knew her name. I don't remember where I saw it, so I guess I can't verify it, but I did read that they were together. If I manage to find it again, I'll post it.

They were seen together nonstop for about a year...they attended everything together and acted as a real couple....I thought they were but was told they weren't so I don't really know....guess I didn't add anything to this but I do like to type...!!!!

Well, I disagree about Nathan...he's just an ass and I can't wait for him to go. The way he's followed Melanie around like a sick puppy is just embarrassing! I think if they had given him better story I would have liked the character cuz I don't mind the actor. But Nathan is just a schm*ck. Now Stephanie, I totally agree. Ever since her breakup scenes with Nathan I have loved her. Her comments in Mon's epi were hilarious! I felt bad that she had to experience the creepy filth that is Rafe 2 but I enjoyed their scenes for some reason.  |

Yes, I believe I read when the news of the couple choosing to leave the show that they were still an item, though I can't find the article I read.
Re: Nathan-I'm glad he finally got a back bone.
I was half hoping Phil would have said "I came to apologize for our fight, and I find you immediately run to Nathan? Every time we have a problem, there's Nathan.. Cant' you see this is why I thought you were cheating on me."
