If the actor who plays your favorite character left to go to another soap, would you watch that other soap as a result? Please vote and discuss.

I don't think I would, unless the character/storyline they were going to play sounded phenomenally interesting to me. It's not like my character would be going, just the actor.

If it was John Aniston or Suzanne Rogers, I would definitely watch the other soap even if the show is horrible.
Any of my other favorites on Days would get me to check them out but I don't guarantee I'd stay.

I tune in to General Hospital every once in awhile to check on Wally Kurth (Justin) but I haven't made the commitment to watch everyday. I would watch any soap if Sam Groom or Lane Davies returned to the genre.

When Stephen Nichols (Steve Johnson) joined Y&R, I had to watch. When Mathew Ashford (Jack Deveraux) went to another soap (can't remember which one), I had to check that out too. But I didn't stay with either one. Turns out it was the portrayal of the Days character that I loved so much rather than the actor alone.

I did not watch the Nanny when it originally aired. I did catch it later in reruns, but Charlie for me was not the same. I also watched Y&R with Stephen Nichols for a little bit, but did not think the character of Tucker McCall did Stephen Nichol's justice acting wise. He is so talented and Steve Johnson really let him show this. Patsy Pease, is a whole different story, I would watch anything and everything she is in...just adore her!

I tend to be a fan of an actor versus a character, so I'd definitely watch whatever show that person is on..

I agree with unavitasegreta. Right now, there is only one actor and one actress on Days that I would follow to another show if they left.

On a more serious note, did you watch DC on ATWT? I very quickly forgot all about that character and accepted him as Aiden. He really adapts to each role and you forget the actor played another character.

unavitasegreta, after you mentioned it some months ago, I did look it up on YT and watched his entire portrayal of Chris Hughes on ATWT. I've also seen his performances as Bill Lewis(GL) and Scott Chandler(AMC) and I agree that he does a great job of making the transition between characters.

OMG I forgot he was on AMC!
Didn't you love Chris Hughes? Great character and family!

I did enjoy Chris Hughes. I thought his storyline was great(very emotional), although I have read since that DC was very critical of his own work on the show.
