Thanks for the flashback. It is kinda hard to plan a wedding with two busy people. But we still need to know WHY Phillip agreed to the divorce!!!

Philip that probably wasn't the best time or place to be planning your wedding.

I'm gonna need some weekend previews to make up for ending the week on a sad note, Kpatch... Yes! I will post some previews later today. Thanks for asking! But I'm afraid I can't guarantee that upcoming episodes won't also be sad, despite the deceiving title of this story.

Thanks for the flashback. It is kinda hard to plan a wedding with two busy people. But we still need to know WHY Phillip agreed to the divorce!!! You are right. Hard for busy people to plan a wedding. All your questions will be answered. I promise. Question — are you guys okay with me breaking up chapters so you get a chapter every day (if possible), even if they're short?

So... Does this mean we get angsty sex, wedding night consummating the marriage sex, AND reunion sex scenes all next week?! ;-)
What?! I'm just asking for the general public. Curious, that's all. ... Stop judging me!

I would rather have something each day.... I tend to lose track of days, so I would never remember when I should be expecting a new chapter!

There are definitely steamy scenes to look forward to. I would rather have something each day.... I tend to lose track of days, so I would never remember when I should be expecting a new chapter! Okay! I will do my best. Thanks for the feedback!

Chapter 9a
January 2015
Philip placed the photo back on his desk, but he couldn’t stop looking at it. He replayed last year in his mind over and over trying to pinpoint the moment things went wrong. He was looking for that magic key. If he could find it, then maybe he could figure out how to right all the wrongs.
They spent so much of the year like ships in the night. When one was traveling, the other was home. And it was just as well because whenever they were together, it seemed like they just argued. Everything was great until the summer ended. After that, it turned into a struggle. She didn’t seem happy in her work, they disagreed about parenting Parker, and worst of all, she believed he was cheating on her.
Despite everything, he missed her like crazy and kept expecting her to walk through the door every night. Going to sleep without talking to her left a hole inside him. She wasn’t just his wife, she was his best friend. And she wasn’t just his best friend, she was this lifelong dream and he carried her in his soul half his life. Even when he was in relationships with other women, Chloe was always out there, always just out of his reach, but never out of his dreams. It was as if he always knew they’d wind up together one day. But what he couldn’t have predicted — what neither of them would have predicted — is that they’d ever wind up apart.
~~ Flashback to January 2014 ~~
Philip was seated on the couch with a cup of coffee staring straight ahead at nothing in particular. Chloe seemed to notice he was strangely quiet this evening.
“You okay,” she asked, lightly touching his thigh as she took a seat beside him.
He looked at her for a long while before answering. He’d been dreading this conversation, fearing her reaction. He leaned forward and set his cup on the coffee table. “I have something I need to tell you and I’m not sure how to say it.”
Her eyes widened. “Oh god Philip. You’re scaring me. What is it?”
“No, sweetheart,” he quickly grasped her hand on his thigh. “It’s nothing to be scared of.” He looked down at their entwined fingers. “At least, I hope not.”

Really emotional chapter Kpatch. I love the way you depict Philip's feelings for Chloe. Can't wait to see what he has to tell her.
